Hi, Dear Steemians friends

Today, I want to take you to Bayon Temple in Angkor Vat near to Siem Reap in Cambodia. It is one of the most interesting Temple in Angkor from its structure and also the faces carved all around its stupas. Like Angkor Vat it is a pyramid based structure and a mandala if you view it from the sky. There is around 50 stupas or towers on the temple and each tower has faces on it, for a total of more than 200 faces, not counting the gates at the four compass directions. Each of these faces is about 4 meters high and is directed in each cardinal direction. It is said from the legend that this is a gateway to heaven and every faces wear the same kind of smile and eyes closed little like the Buddha but this is not a Buddha image but the image of the King Jayavarman VII who was the King who order the construction of the entire site of Angkor Vat. All the gates are also very interesting, especially the bridge that brings to the gates with many Khmer soldiers statues on each sides holding in they arms the ramps on each side of the bridges. Here a few pictures for the eyes pleasure.

Nice clear photos of these huge faces!! They are still in good condition. The carvings are also very detailed! Good camera!

The carvings are everywhere in Angkor Vat. Nearly everything is cover by some carvings and when looking very close you can see that it was cover from gold. It is really a beautiful site, said to be the world largest religious site. Thank You :)

Who built this place? Was it a mixed race of people and aliens from other planet?!

There are many theories about who build it. It is even more questioning when you are there because it was all recovered with carvings. In terms of building time we are looking at a few centuries and not 20-30 years of the official story. They must have some kind of advanced tools or technics to do it. Many theories are speaking of non-human also some of the carvings are just way too strange. Difficult to say for sure, but many strange things left without answers.
Regards.

I really love Ancient architecture like this. I hope one day I will go there.

Me too, I really enjoy being in the middle of this ancient site. It is quite cheap to go there, also, there is some daily bus to go from BKK to Siem Reap. So many things to see on this 400Km2 site, need some time and big camera data storage.

Interesting, Thank you for useful information. ^^/

But the best way to go there is to fly, not during summer because the fly is more expensive, but out of summer if reserved like an Airasia fly two months in advance you can get a very cheap price sometimes better than the bus!

I like the architecture of Angkor Wat - Cambodia very much.
If have the opportunity to visit Cambodia I will visit the beauty of Angkor Wat before anything . Thank you very much for sharing beautiful photos khun @ricko66

I can only to encourage you to go and visit this magnificent place, when you go, take enough days to visit because it is so big. Thanks :)

One of the most beautiful old buildings I think was built about 1 million years ago ?? Lol

There is two theory about the age of Angkor Vat, the mainstream history that says it is around 800 years old, and the other historians and researcher that says it is around 5000 years old like the pyramids. It is also built on the same lay lines than the pyramids of Egypt and it is also pyramids. Thanks :)

นครวัดเป็นโบราณสถานที่งดงามมากๆค่ะ
และคู่ควรแล้วที่ได้รับการประกาศให้เป็นมรดกโลก

Yes, it is important to preserve this site, that is why it is a World Heritage Site. At the moment they restore some parts of Angkor but it is a work that has started 30 years ago and is far to be finished. Thank You @meow99 :)

ดูแปลกตาและสวยงามไปอีกแบบค่ะ ขอบคุณนะคะที่นำมาแชร์

Yes, indeed it is strange but beautiful, at this ancient time this very advanced civilization has a taste for art and also much knowledge of architecture, astronomy, water canalization and much more. It is strange that Angkor civilization has just vanished and Angkor was abandoned for hundreds of years. Thank You @sunittra :)
