Now that is something exciting to see out the window, what a lovely little hawk patiently watching the comings and goings in the garden.

Perhaps looking for field mouse to pop up for his morning breakfast @traciyork well done they normally never sit for long.

I'm constantly surprised and grateful at how the wildlife around here spoils me by posing for photos, @joanstewart! And thank you so much. 😊

Nice pictures

Thanks, @wales.

I have no idea what type of Hawk it is but greta shots you got of it :)

And cool you got to use your Nikon and had it handy and charged up for the moment

Thanks so much, @tattoodjay! I have a spot reserved for my camera on top of my desktop computer, so it can charge whenever my rig is on (which is most times...LOL). It makes for a handy place to grab it should something interesting appear outside my window. 😊

Apart from when I am charging the batteries up, my phone is in my camera/Work bag which I take with me almost everywhere so I have it handy and ready to go :)

Excellent! 😊

And sadly it hasn't been out of my bag for 4 days now the weather just has not been cooperative for me, but hopefully tomorrow :)

Yeah, it's been fairly nasty here too, and is getting worse overnight. Needless to say, I'm dipping into my archives for tomorrow's #wednesdaywalk! 😜

Unless it improves here I may have to do the same for next week I had hopes for a walk this morning but it’s reallu gusty out
Stay safe and dry

Same to you, my friend. 😊

Such a magnificent creature! I love animals so much. :)

No matter how often I see them, they always take my breath away, @arisinho! And same here! 😊

Wow, what an awesome bird! He looks so proud and beautiful.

I wish I could've gotten a clear shot of him as he slowly flew off, @simplymike! He was even more beautiful and proud!

Poor little guy. He just wants his feeder back! :-)

More like he wants the crowd that my feeders used to attract, @mattifer... 😜

Does he eat other birds?

Yeah, unfortunately he does. Most of the birds that hang out in our yard are too quick/aware for all the hawks, but there have been a few occasions that feathers went flying. That being said, the hawks seem more interested in the chipmunks, mice, and even occasional snakes that also hang around the feeders.

I didn't know they preyed on birds too. I thought it was just rodents and small cats/dogs. :-)

Thanks for the info!

You're very welcome, @mattifer! 😊

Love the fella, predatoring and lookin for food...

They are such awesome creatures! 😊

Great shots. I love those birds.

Thanks, @ikarus56! So do I! 😊

I love birds and have watched a kestrel sitting on the telephone wires scoping the ground for breakfast and as much as he/she is beautiful, I am silently telling the little field mice and lizards to take cover!!

LOL, @lizziesworld! I can relate - I've "yelled" at the neighborhood hawks to leave the critters around here alone (usually through the window), but every time I see a raptor hanging around, I'm wicked psyched. They are just so incredible to watch, even if they're just sitting on a tree branch! 😊

Wow @traciyork

Just sat there while the world was getting on with stuff. What a great moment. Lovely shots.

Gaz

Thanks so much, @cheese4ead! Yep, it's amazing to me, given that we're in a relatively rural location, how unperturbed our wildlife is by our daily goings on. 😊

Excellent photos! Hawks are so cool. I have some big Red Tails that have been hanging out in my yard.
