I've written about a lot of podcasts here over the weeks, but this week I'm going to write about one that's not out yet. Also, it's mine. Also, I will definitely write about it on here some more in the future. It's Deskflip and Chill, and this is Podcast Wedensday.
You may have already seen this post by @techslut, which I resteemed, announcing the logo design contest. Please go over there, check it out, and submit a design for 10 SBD and eternal glory.
But I wanna talk a bit about our plans. First, the technical part. While it may find a home at one of the Steemit affiliated radio stations at some point, we're launching it independently, with its own discord server, and possibly live video streaming.
As I wrote in my comment to @techslut's post, we're going to eventually have two version of the podcast: A live show, with talk and music and interactivity, and a podcast version that will not have any non podsafe songs, and may not have any songs at all. Why? Because licensing songs is complicated and costs money, the kind of money that makes sense for a radio station, and maybe also for a super successful podcast, but not for a fledgling show like ours. The conversation will definitely be nerdy. It will likely be funny. It may even be informative at times!
I recently put up a dsound clip asking for RSS support to be added to @dsound. Because we'd like the podcast version to be on the blockchain, not just as an embed from soundcloud, but it is essential for us to be available on all the podcasting apps, and that does not work without an RSS feed. If dsound doesn't support rss at launch, we're probably going to do the double upload thing, using soundcloud or another service for podcast subscriptions and dsound for distribution on the blockchain.
While we definitely have plans for the podcast, we know no plan survives an encounter with the enemy. In this case, the enemy is actually doing the thing. We've both been on the radio, and I even used to have a podcast way back in 2011, but this is a brand new thing. It's gonna take a while for it to be what it'll become, but we're gonna do our best to be entertaining while we build up to that.

From my experience with my avatar drawing contest? You first get a few "meh" ones, and then a few good ones, and then the last day or two you get the really really good ones. So I think everyone is waiting to see what others post. :)

I'm curious to see (hear) what this will turn into! Good luck on figuring it all out :-) I'm notoriously bad at listening podcasts (my visual brain NEEDS something to look at - if not my mind starts to wander), but I promise to listen to at least one full episode and let you know what I think!
