Chuck...a poem

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

Chuck, a duck, waddled carefully
He was a clean duck, this Chuck
and he avoided
the muck.

The muckety muck duck, Pamela Brubuck
who also avoided the muck
wanted the crumbs stuck in the muck.

Chuck, the duck who admired Pamela Brubuck,
watch as a truck churned the muck and covered entirely the crumbs that had been stuck in the muck.

"Shucks." murmured Chuck, who was quiet for a duck.

"That SUCKS!" hollered Pamela Brubuck, who, being accustomed to getting her way as the grand high muckety muck
was more perturbed than Chuck.

As luck would have it, Chuck saw a loaf of bread fall off a truck.
He shared it with every duck.
In the end, food for a duck, regardless of social position,
regardless of muckety mucks...
Food is the crux.
