Please enjoy this week responsibly...
Rules
- All 9 images must be referenced at least once, each. Images are interpreted loosely. How you interpret (or assign the image meaning) is up to you and does not count against you.
- Make your first tag “poetrydice”, so I can find your entry. I use this tag to find your post.
- Label your entry clearly. Include "Poetry Dice Entry:" in your title, so I know it's official.
- Put a link to your post in the comments section (below).
- No more than 3 official entries will be judged per user. Feel free to make up to 3 submissions each week.
- Message me your link in http://steemit.chat/direct/robyn.eggs (optional).
***Please only use the “poetrydice” tag for official entries to the contest! 👮🏿
User(s) who intentionally misuse the "poetrydice" tag will be flagged. It makes it very difficult to locate all the contest entrant's posts when the "poetrydice" tag is filled up with everything else. Please be respectful and understanding of this from the perspective of the judge and host. Flagging a post can remove rewards and make this material less visible. Some common reasons to flag:
- Disagreement on rewards
- Fraud or Plagiarism
- Hate Speech or Internet Trolling
- Intentional miscategorized content or Spam*
Deadline to enter contest is next Saturday at Midnight PST (UTC-7)
Winners will be announced weekly.
Prizes
This week's contest earnings are higher!
1rst Place - 7 STEEM
2nd Place - 5 STEEM
3rd Place - 3 STEEM
Judges
Yes I am the only judge of the poetry dice contest this week, but I am wishing and hoping someone else will want to join in and take a turn, too. Two or three heads are better than one, so if you would like an opinion too, please let me know and we can chat up which poems we like best for the week and why.
Last week @mamadini co-judged the PDC3K. It was great to have you on board! Too bad there weren't more entries for us to judge. There were some really good poems to choose from, though, and I appreciate everyone who did come out to post a dice poem. Thanks for posting and I hope to see you again this week, along with some new users.
If you would like to guest or co-judge the weekly PDC3K, please message me in steemit chat (link above).
*Disclaimer:
The winners are based on the entries which I(we) think are best. I am not saying anyone is a bad poet, I will not say that. Instead, I(we) seek to offer encouraging and supportive feedback as a fellow poet. My opinion of what is best takes into consideration many things that can add or subtract to the value of a poem, including (but not limited to):
- grammar / Does it make sense?
- flow / Are there any unclosed loopholes that leave me confused?
- rhythm
- rhyme
- imagery / Can I imagine the pictures the words paint?
- feeling / Does it cause a reaction?
- and emotional pull / Do I suddenly have an opinion?
My Sample Poem
"An Old Man Sits..."
A timeless antiquity perks in the opulent space discharge of a mongoose
The left-handed man smiles as his hands turn from dust to plump again
And an eye seeks out the darkness blooming on the horizon...
What dice will roll next? asks the left-handed man, sad but full of chagrin
An apple red and dark sits on the painted tablecloth, silk with stains
There is nothing left to choose but blame and sugar cane and flowers that fall, like rain...
The scales have tipped and the bony jangles of meaty flesh pour space juice out like the looseness of budding manhood
Moonlight illuminates the teepee of long lost Jim Turner and his lumpy flesh of hands, raised behind the door flap
And I listen...

Sorry, was on vacation, either the dice pull me in or vex me, if I'm vexed its to perplexing to entertain a thought to roll with the dice, I'll see what I can stir up.

in the interests of fairness, I just want to point out that I made a couple of minor edits to the poem and changed the flow of the gifs.
just now, a few hours after publishing.
I noticed I had copied the wrong gif
etc.
not too much difference really.
big hugs
