"Attention whore" is probably the best description of McCain. He lives for the opportunity to have all the attention focused on him, everyone saying, "Will he or won't he?"

Sadly, although McCain valiantly stood up to the Viet Cong decades ago, for the last many years he's almost never managed to stand up to the New York Times Editorial Board. Sad!
