Simple serious question: What has Donald Trump actually done wrong?

in politics •  8 years ago  (edited)

I replied earlier, but it's not showing up, so forgive me if this is a double post.

  1. Comey was leading an investigation into Trump's team.
  2. Trump fired Comey.
  3. Trump admitted he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation, and said it gave him a great source of relief.

Whether you think the Russia story is bullshit or not, there was an investigation going on that both the FBI and CIA think is warranted, and Trump fired the lead investigator. This is clear obstruction of justice.

You are right about Comey's memos not being actual evidence though.

That is if you believe this was the only reason to fire Comey. I'd been waiting for Comey to be fired long before this. He was doing a pretty shitty and questionable job even back during the Hillary investigation.

I would not have been surprised to see him get fired as soon as Trump was inaugurated for that alone.

Trump admitted he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation, and said it gave him a great source of relief.

Trump says a lot of shit. Ever heard the phrase "the straw that broke the camels back".

Let's go back to November when the Russian Hack claims came out and FBI claimed to have evidence, which as far as I know mostly boiled down to them finding evidence of a Cyrillic keyboard being used by the hacker. Which means nothing, proves nothing, and even is a documented CIA tactic. Yet that is my field of expertise and I've written numerous blogs on why that was flawed and that the "evidence" they had might appear as evidence to the common people who don't know how the internet and hacking actually work. As someone who has to deal with these things regularly it was bullshit.

Let alone as many of us suspected it appears all of that information from that supposed hack actually was leaked by Seth Rich before he was killed.

SO they had evidence and that was the narrative. That wasn't working out so they switched the narrative again. They do it a lot.

Yes, this would qualify as a "witch hunt". As they just keep changing the target with no actual evidence. Eventually they are bound to find his "deal with the devil".

I suspect Comey was potentially long ago on the chopping block as potentially going to be fired. I have little doubt that the Russian Investigations after the obvious lack of focus on that "topic" I just wrote about was the final straw.

CIA.... Have you read any of the Vault 7 leaks? CIA believing a thing... that is actually a negative against it being true these days. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if Comey was using the investigation as a hostage to stay in power.
