SPS proposal #66 Sunsetting of Steemit.com and transitioning steemit inc into a foundation for steem, saving up to $500,000 in Amazon server costs and allowing freeing steemit inc tosell less steem to pay bills.

SPS proposal #66 (Star Wars Reference) is a comprehensive proposal for the sunsetting of steemit.com so steemit inc can focus on dapps, and promoting them, and putting that money into

costs and ending the negative price pressure from steemit inc having to keep up with an unprofitable website.

I really feel this can save steemit as @steempeak is ready to start experimenting with taking larger and larger users and testing the waters with some planned steemit.com downtimes where the "Under Maintenance" sign is replaced with a link to steempeak and instructions on how to use it. Over time ALL users will be forced to migrate to their choice of steem front end from https://steempeak.com to https://busy.org

The transition can even simply be framed as steempeak simply becoming the new steemit.com front end, no one would argue. And anyone "trapped" having to use keychain will get over it and learn!

Steemit.com would redirect to https://steem.com/ and display a list of top steem front ends, @steempeak being the top choice

Current Steem.io / steem.com page that needs to be modified, to show @steempeak and explain the need for users to use Keychain or steemconnect to use the new steempeak.

This proposal is more of an idea I am paying 300 steem in bid bot upvotes to the top of steemit even if i get downvotes. I am willing to risk my own steem to promote the idea that we simply need to say goodbye to this clunky old expensive website that is costing steemit inc over $600K a month in Amazon hosting bills. Some will say they still have to run the Steem RPC nodes and yet when they were not working recently we all used @anyx 's RPC nodes and so the community really is at the point where we do not need this massive drain on the blockchain with @steem and @steemit selling millions of steem every month so they can afford the over half a million dollars in amazon hosting. No matter the details, we all know the costs are too high or Steemit inc would not need to sell so much steem, but if they were able to dump their entire responsibility onto @steempeak they could save that money and steem price could go up so high everyone will be happy that steemit.com is simply a steem portal like steem.io or steem.com and that all major steem traffic will be sent to https://steempeak.com

This proposal is symbolic. I am paying $10 SBD for the privilege of seeding an idea to steemians. I will also pay for a bid bot upvote to get this post as high as I can on trending.
