Entering the Synchronicity Slip Stream

Sometimes I find myself stuck. Whether it's writers block or being unable to decide what choice needs to be made next, my mind freezes and I can't see the path I need to take.

These moments can be very frustrating. Time is a precious resource, and having it be wasted because my brain suddenly decided to hibernate is a huge setback.

Fortunately, I have spent a good portion of my life studying the esoteric, and have found some useful tools for my toolbox. I want to share one of these with you: the Synchronicity Slip Stream.

The Synchronicity Slip Stream (SSS) is a term coined by our rag-tag group of psychonautic savants and philosophical weirdos. It is one of several profound cognitive states that are distinctly identifiable but difficult to explain unless experienced authentically.

Most of us know what synchronicity is; when something happens with a degree of coincidence that makes us take notice of it with a sense that there is something deeper there. For instance, thinking about someone, and then having them call you, only to realize it was exactly 3:33. These instances often leave a person feeling as if they just “received a message.” A common example of this is when we are undergoing some personal struggle while listening to music, only to have a profound revelation because the lyrics seem to be talking directly to you. Even if it is a song you have heard a hundred times before, in that moment it takes on a whole new depth that can often seem like it was written for that exact moment.

Many times this feeling comes off as a sense of deja vu, or a sense that we are being intentionally guided. Some people become aware of these synchronous happenings and allow it to influence their actions. The synchronicities can often be explained in a numerous different ways, but by choosing to notice them through a certain lens, you can influence your perspective to readily “pick up on” certain explanations. For instance, if a person chooses to accept the synchronous happening as a message from a higher intelligence, this conditions the mind to look for other instances of this, which in turn results in the brain finding more synchronous happenings.

This is what the Synchronicity Slip Stream is. When a person gets scooped up into a alternate reality of synchronous happenings. It is a cognitive state where the mind has been retrained to construct a whole new explanation for reality, and thus normal stimuli are reinterpreted in a new light. To expand on this idea, think of the experiments where a person wears an inverted pair of glasses for a long period of time. They will first see the world upside-down, but in time the brain relearns how to “see” and flips the image automatically. The SSS is similar to this phenomena, in that the conscious observation of alternate explanations for events will cause the brain to prefer those explanations, making them appear more apparent in our conscious observation of the world.

It can be difficult to activate the slip stream. Often, it requires fate to bestow a moment that really makes us go “woah...” with how weird it is, and then allowing that to influence you. I've been able to achieve it by looking hard at what is available to me, and trying to see something outside the ordinary. But, I believe that's only possible because I've been scooped into the slip stream before, and can “see” the explanations as they were before. It's pretty clear that SSS grows through the power of observation, so the more you consciously choose to acknowledge and think about what you're experiencing, the more it cements the phenomena.

Using the SSS, I have been guided by extra-terrestrials when reading the I-Ching, instructed on what to write by the CIA through my social media feed, and even been instructed by God to learn to dance by passing by a studio just as I asked what my next step was while deep in the SSS mindset. Obviously, these avenues appear as emergent phenomena of the mind. That is, our brains are pattern-detection machines, and by training them to identify alternate patterns, we create an alternate experience for ourselves, complete with a whole different perspective.

As a metaphor, I like to think of writer's block as a physical block in front of me. So large is it, I cannot see anything from my position. But, if I move my position, I can see more of what's behind the block. Additionally, being commanded to go on a cosmic mission does wonders for my motivation.

Cough cough, wink wink, nudge nudge

Oh sorry, I was just trying to get Gods attention. Doing things like that helps make the experience seem more real, and as a result it elicits a physical change in the mind, further training the brain to tune in to a certain frequency, so to speak. The more you make the experience real, the more real it becomes.

Yet, it never stays forever. Over time, the amount the brain needs to stretch to make its fabricated reality fit over the normal one becomes too much to believe. This means the state fades gradually over time, forcing you to look for synchronicities to keep it afloat. It is important to note that you never want to forcibly prolong this state, as it can lead to extended periods of manic delusions. To someone really desiring for direction/commands, SSS can leave them feeling desperate for another word from God, so to speak, and make them believe and do things they otherwise wouldn't/shouldn't.

The last sentence of the fourth paragraph is incomplete. There's "SSS is" and that's it.

Oh thanks, I write piecewise, so this happens sometimes.

YW. Y'know, even writing "piecewise" there's something called "proof-reading" that would catch such errors.

I'm just playing around. :)
