See! This is why I and others stopped posting on Steem!

Pete, me old mukka, there is a finite rewards pool, so we need some reasonable way to distribute it. You are actually making more than many. You have nearly 2000 followers, but most are probably inactive. @papa-pepper has been part of the community for a long time and has 22k followers who are likely to include some big accounts who still support him.

If everyone's vote was worth the same them we would all create dozens of sock puppets to vote is up. Instead those who have either invested money or earned a lot of Steem get more influence.

It was actually worse in the past as there was a non-linear relationship between stake and influence.

I think you are being disingenuous (my word of the week) to the witnesses. Those I've met care about making Steem a viable platform for all. They are not getting rich off it. Compare Steem earnings with what top YouTubers make. Mind you, anyone can earn something here. In the early days it was a little crazy with some making thousands per post whilst I made cents. They adjusted the rules to get better distribution.

I mostly only make a couple of bucks per post and I've been really active. There are cliques who support each other and people vote strategically to maximise their curation rewards. No system is perfect. At least there is less buying of votes these days.

Posting about the unfairness of rewards is not likely to get you much, but you don't have to be a total sycophant either.

If Steem did get to millions of users then we might see some celebrities mashing big bucks whilst the rest of us scrabble for breadcrumbs, but if the price is went up that might still be worthwhile. The fact is that billions use social media for zero financial reward and they could earn here. They have that option. That is part of why I have fought to make Steem better.

Is my comment longer than your post?

Yeah, you make some fair points. I agree someone would be insane to upvote a ranting post, oh wait they do don't they when it suits them. LOL

I disagree with you on the levels of rewards I've received over the years. When I look at what some are earning for total crap it honestly makes me angry (See Angry Panda) I see people on lower Rep than me earning well over the $10 mark on a regular basis so for that reason I have to disagree.

Maybe I should post half-naked pictures of my fantastic life reviewing hotels that have invited me to stay all expenses paid that I already posted on Instagram, Youtube et al and cynically overlay some steemit logos on said pictures to make it look like original content then maybe I too would be in the $300 - $400 range?

You know, when I post on Mastodon or Twitter I do it for love and my followers. True I don't get financially paid there but I do get some love there. On Steemit the only 'Love' I feel I get after 3 years is you and about four others. Pretty crap if you ask me. LOL

I love the fact you can post 72 paragraphs in a comment. Gives you a chance to truly explain yourself 140 or 500 character limitation has got me into so much trouble over the years. LOL

Don't forget, you can upvote peoples comments too!

I can can fully agree that rewards often do not seem fair, but life tends to be like that and capitalism encourages it. Those with the power get to choose how they use it and that may be based off what they think adds value to Steem or just who their mates are. If only a few people are seeing your posts then can they be said to have much value? I talk to loads of people and get more comments, but still don't make that much more. As I said, it's a finite pool and so we can't all make loads. Others may live a me met that you think is crap. Just see what makes money on Instagram or YouTube. Part of why I build up my sp is so I can get bigger rewards to what I think deserves it.

I do use Steem to engage with people I like and respect. What I make does not really justify the time I spend on it, but it's better than nothing and I'm having fun.

You should come to Steemcampuk in Leicester next month. You could reach a few more people there. I think we need all angles on Steem.

I clearly need an Angel mate. 🙏
