A Dirge

So soon you left when the harvest was yet green
All the youthful dreams washed in the rain like you were never there
You should have waited a bit longer to be all that you wrote down
I still read them and my heart bleeds

So soon you left when the harvest was yet green
You should have waited for the ripening of the fruits
And to give back a consolement for your mother's labour
Boldly were your dreams written
I still read them and my heart bleeds
