Yesterday, Tuesday, April 19, the Ingenuity helicopter took off from Martian soil in what constitutes the first flight powered on a planet other than Earth, this helicopter is part of the Perseverance mission carried out by NASA, which constitutes an unprecedented milestone from the flight of the Wright brothers' airplane.
Ayer martes 19 de abril despegaba desde suelo marciano el helicóptero Ingenuity en lo que constituye el primer vuelo propulsado en un planeta distinto de la Tierra, este helicóptero forma parte de la misión Perseverance llevada a cabo por la NASA, lo que constituye un hito sin precedentes desde el vuelo del aeroplano de los hermanos Wright.
With a week delay due to software problems, the Ingenuity managed to make its first 40-second flight by rising 3 meters from the ground and, after staying in the air for a while, it turned 90º and returned to the safety of its base in the first of a total of 5 flights scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.
Con una semana de retraso por problemas de software el Ingenuity conseguía realizar su primer vuelo de 40 segundos elevándose 3 metros del suelo y, tras mantenerse un rato en el aire giró 90ª y volvió a la seguridad de su base en el primero de un total de 5 vuelos programados a realizar en las próximas semanas.

In the next flights the Ingenuity will rise up to 5m and will advance up to a distance of 300 m from the base while taking black and white photographs of the terrain and color photos of the horizon with the respective cameras, all this if it is able to withstand the intense cold of the Martian nights away from its base in the Perseverance rover.
En los próximos vuelos el Ingenuity se elevará hasta 5m y avanzará hasta una distancia de 300 m de la base mientras toma fotografías en blanco y negro del terreno y fotos en color del horizonte con sendas cámaras al efecto, todo esto si es capaz de resistir el intenso frio de las noches marcianas alejado de su base en el rover Perseverance.
Although it may seem like something simple to fly a helicopter or a drone on another planet, we have to bear in mind that Mars has half the radius of the Earth and much less mass, this makes the gravity on the red planet 1/3 of the Earth gravity. Furthermore, the atmosphere of Mars has a density of 1% of the Earth's atmosphere, which makes it extremely difficult to achieve the necessary lift force to raise Ingenuity.
Aunque puede parecer algo sencillo volar un helicóptero o un dron en otro planeta tenemos que tener en cuenta que Marte tiene la mitad del radio de la Tierra y mucha menos masa, esto hace que la gravedad en el planeta rojo sea 1/3 de la gravedad de la Tierra además la atmósfera de Marte tiene una densidad de un 1% de la atmósfera terrestre lo que dificulta enormemente conseguir la fuerza de sustentación necesaria para elevar el Ingenuity.

This helicopter has been designed to last only 30 Martian days and once these flights are completed and the pertinent data collected for further study on Earth, the Ingenuity will be abandoned in the Jezero crater to the delight of future tourists and the mission will focus on the rover and the missions assigned to it.
Este helicóptero ha sido diseñado para durar tan solo 30 días marcianos y una vez completados estos vuelos y recogidos los datos pertinentes para su posterior estudio en la Tierra el Ingenuity será abandonado en el cráter Jezero para deleite de los futuros turistas y la misión se centrará en el rover y las misiones que se le han sido asignadas.
Although this first design is not very functional, the data that it contributes to scientists will be very valuable for the construction of future drones that serve as support in manned missions to other destinations in the solar system, such as the one that is in fact already being built called Dragonfly that will be sent to Saturn's moon Titan in 2027.
Aunque este primer diseño es bastante poco funcional los datos que aporte a los científicos serán muy valiosos para la construcción de futuros drones, que sirvan de apoyo en las misiones tripuladas a otros destinos del sistema solar, como el que de hecho ya se está construyendo llamado Dragonfly y que será enviado a Titán la luna de Saturno en 2027.

Hola @Mauromar Hace unos años, saliÓ una serie llamada Marte, que habla de todo lo que necesitamos para poder viajar allá y establecer una colonia. Creo que es un gran paso para conocer como esta compuesto el planeta y saber si será posible en un futuro albergar vida allÍ.
