a scam version of steemit exists, operated by the account @theprophet0.

Does this mean that the understanding is that @theprophet0 is behind the fake site? Just asking for clarification.

Yes, you can see an example of a comment from that account that points to this scammy site here:

It is possible that @theprophet0 itself got hacked, I am not sure.

I see that @theprophet0 posted a post an hour ago saying account was hacked.

Looks like keys were changed too before that post.

thanks for the link

Yeah, I wonder. I'll see if I can get a hold of him. We almost met up in real life a while back...

that account was acting wonky and downvoting , flagging.....think got on a group chat and was not getting a good vibe AT ALL,

I'm trying to contact a few guys who are closer to him. This seems really bizarre.

I located an older post with an image of him - he appears to be 17 years old (see my reply to @gomeravibz below)

Yeah, seventeen sounds right. I used to have his phone number, but I literally switched phones and cleared the history on the old one three days ago! What are the odds?

It's all part of the conspiracy - I think an aluminum foil hat will protect your decision making process in future. lol ;)

You could see the aluminum foil under my black stocking hat? Yeah, I have my reasons, but I was just going to play it off as "my new look."
