Many positions, and combinations of pillows and positions to try and find
The least painful, that will allow me to at least FALL asleep.
It is most often relatively easy to fall asleep with a pillow under both knees,
And my head slightly raised/propped up as I watch TV
(I know my neighbors LOVE that), but I've always been a
"ROLLER" meaning I never remain in one position.
Sleeping on either side was QUITE painful, as it either place my whole
Body's weight ON my hip (if I tried to sleep on my right side) or it pulled my
Right hip joint APART (via gravity) if I tried sleeping on my left side.
~
After months of experimenting, I arrived on this; A FAT bed pillow on my
Left side, sort of between my knees, me sort of hugging it, BUT MAINLY
My right knee and thigh resting on that pillow!
Since I sleep in a twin bed, this necessitated that I be relatively near
The right edge of the bed behind me.
(I put on shorts to keep from offending any one, and I would have been under a sheet anyway)
So, a little while ago, in my sleep, I began a slow roll onto my back!!!
And with the GENEROUS help of Mother Nature and GRAVITY, my right
Leg splayed wide, causing my hip to quickly fall wide slap open!😱
With nothing but unsupported air, and the floor underneath.
The latter steps occurring in relatively rapid succession, meant
Now, I'm obviously awake

Good morning @janton, thanks for stopping by.
Some days are better than others, but as a rule, no. From what I can
Understand it won't improve, unless and until someone comes up with
A way to regenerate cartilage. "Bone-on-bone" doesn't just 'get better'.
I'm hoping a hip replacement will make me like new. Thanks.

good morning this fine Friday sir jerrytsuseer! well sir, I'm sure you have researched natural alternatives? I've heard doctors say that we can now help the body regenerate and produce or grow more cartilage but I don't remember what that takes.
I hope you got more than a couple of hours of sleep last night. that's exhausting.

Almost good afternoon 'sir @janton' ha ha...I didn't have a
recurrence of the gravity assisted hip expansion, no. I did
Sleep a bit better, in fact, I've been ill, so sleeping too
Much.
I appreciate your hopefulness, but seriously, if any credible
Dr or researcher had shown that cartilage could be regenerated
and/or regrown in quantities and qualities enough to fix hips,
Shoulders or spines...I should think we'd have heard about it.
No big pharma or corporate giant could silence all their
Workers and employees that have families who would benefit
By this discovery.
One can hope though. One can always hope.
I have my niece and her husband (quadriplegic; spinal cord
Injury) who are
If there were a viable alternative out there, I'm sure they would know about it.

howdy back so fast sir jerry! yes sir..well that's good to know that they are the experts in researching that kind of thing, but yes the advancements in alternative as well as regular medicine seem to always be coming fast so sooner or later I'm sure they will come up with better repairs.
the replacement of the hip is major but you should have a whole new, painfree hip for the rest of your life!

And have said that (excluding any complication of course) You
Can have the surgery and a week later be up and out of the
Hospital, walking without pain and without a cane either.
I REALLY REALLY like the idea of no pain, no cane.

pay a 20% copay.
I spoke to an attractive and shockingly you lady this afternoon,
who said she'd had hip replacement done TEN YEARS AGO in
New York, which 10 yrs ago cost $87,000. So just say the cost
hasn't gone up, my 20% (1/5th) copay of $87,000 would be
$17,400.
She said she is still paying on that debt, and will be for the
rest of her life. I have VA coverage, for which I would owe
Nothing, but I've had two testimonies of how they
botched the surgery, (two different people) that
required the original surgery to be redone,
months of painful delays, etc...if I had
MediCAID in addition to mediCARE, I
Would not have to pay anything. At
Present, I have too much $ in the
Bank to qualify for medicaid.
I don't know what to do, but
Say Good Night for now

nothing my friend. Thanks
On the upside, I weighed 185.6 lbs when I got up, before
taking meds or coffee... one yr ago, I weighed 218 lbs.
Nothing changed really but stopped taking some of
The meds the VA had me on. I probably needed
The antidepressant, but....

Thank you @ykdesign, but this was hardly meant to be cute.
I will take this as a compliment on my writing.
