I couldn't be more excited as I type this. @aggroed and @yabapmatt as great Steem Wizards announced this update would be a HUGE thing and they were on point! Way to go for this awesome game to now have done what others have tried and didn't succeed. DEC are live now and every Splinterlands player can now earn these Crystals as a new in-game currency by winning battles, burning unused or highly valuable card (to make them even rarer) and boy did I do that haha... I couldn't help myself and made the biggest bonfire you can imagine. Got myself around 120K ish DEC on the first hour by burning some of my highest leveled cards and most of them were max level ones! You can also buy or send your DEC to https://steem-engine.com/?p=market&t=DEC and trade/exchange it for STEEM! (STEEM pegged asset pair)
This is how the DEC hub looks/displays from the game (after spending 100K+ in awesome new stuff)
You can now use DEC to buy potions to have higher chances into obtaining more rare and better cards, skins which now you can turn on and have a different display than most players in special-unique cards. You can also buy new items called Orbs which are basically new packs of 5 cards featuring new characters and abilities! I got so lucky with what I've been getting for all of my time playing this game and I'm really happy to feel each move this game and its team makes, makes it even more succesful and allows it/us o have a greater reach!
Two legendary cards in a single Orb is just the best gift and prize I've gotten since I started playing the game (May 2018)
These were some of the Orbs I purchased and opened right away after burning several BCX (combined cards measuring unit) and again, I couldn't be more happy!
