Australian wicket-keeper Mitchell Starc holds the record for the 100 wickets in one-day internationals. Not only that, he also took 100 wickets in the possession of the lowest amount of the ball. Rashid Khan is going to break Mitchell Starc's two records.
Stark scored 100 wickets in just 52 matches in 2016. He broke the record of Pakistan's Saqlain Mustaq, which remained untouched for almost two decades of service. Mustak took 100 wickets in 53 ODIs. Australian paceman Shoaib Akhtar also broke the record. Shoaib Akhtar took 100 wickets with the lowest ball (2777). Stark took 100 wickets, with only 2445 balls left behind.
Afghanistan's young spinner Rashid Khan has put Mitchell Starc's two records in jeopardy. He took 16 wickets (4, 2, 5, 2, and 3) in the five-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. He played only 37 matches and took 86 wickets. He needed 14 wickets to break the record of Stark. Maybe playing the two-three ODI series, Rashid will break the record. Not only this, Rashid Khan has spent only 1791 balls to score 86 wickets.
It is, therefore, unacceptable that Mitchell Starc's record of 100 wickets in the lowest one-day internationals and the least number of wickets is in danger.
