The Visible-Invisible 2. - Still Getting Exposure After 2+ Years.

In my previous The Visible-Invisible, I talked about the 50/50 split and how one of my articles still sits on top of google whenever someone search for that specific phrase. It's definitely not the best article I've ever written, but it still brings people to STEEM.

Search phrase on google:

how to get whale votes

I will not talk about rewards or have a debate regarding 50/50 today, but I wanted to share another article of mine that sits on top of the google searches.

Search phrase on google:

how to make clickable images on steem

One might wonder if old posts have any function at all, except for being something that authors and curators earns from, and that's why I want to show you today.

I published that article on 2016-08-18 and 981 days later, 2019-04-23, it still brings traffic to STEEM. My article still generates traffic, even though I wrote it almost 1000 days ago. That's the resultss from the combination between google rankings, keywords, seo and to know what type of search phrases people will use.

This is obviously not the most searched phrase on google, I am well aware of that too... But it proves that your content is important and that it's worth something, no matter the $-symbol next to it. So, two out of two of my "The Visible-Invisible" posts have been showing you articles that sits on top of google for specific searches... And both articles still generates traffic, even after up to 1000 days.

You are welcome. :)

Yes it is. I understood. Very good

I have often read about SEOs and how to improve visibility and have to admit that it is quite confusing! I imagine there could be a way to bring Steem content higher on those searches when created but wonder why it takes so much effort.

Yeah, search engine optimization is tricky. It's basically like a blind person trying to read. An interesting thing about SEO, is the amount of freelancers that offers SEO services for just a few dollars on Fiverr, SEOClerks and many similar marketplaces. They get hundreds if not even thousands of orders and they are far from experts. Many of them use a software, a backlink-creator, that creates a flood of poor quality backlinks to customers and they get a five-star rating for it... lol

So one thing I have been wondering... have you found STEEM posts ranking high on google that are not about something related to STEEM?

I'm not trying to be critical but just making an observation that when I have made my own google searches I only see STEEM posts when I'm searching for something STEEM related.

What have you found?

STEEM posts and/or anything related to STEEM is obviously what shows up if you search for STEEM, just like anything related to McDonald's would show if you search for that, but I obviously understand what you're saying.

That is why I also shared the: "how to get whale votes" search phrase. Even though that phrase doesn't include STEEM, my Steem-post is the first result that shows up. In general though, I would say that Steem-posts ranks poorly. It seems to be almost impossible to find a Steem-post if you search for things that doesn't include or involve STEEM.

I don't know why though, but on the other hand, I don't find facebook posts or tweets often either, and Steem is supposed to be a social media platform. A good observation though.
