What’s your story and what brought you here?

I'm an animator from Kathmandu, I was actually working on a explainer video about Steam which made me curious about Steam and now I am here.

How and when did you first hear about steemit.com? (Was it word of mouth? Was it a post on another forum or social media platform? Was it a video? )

As I said earlier, I was working on this video. There was a link to the Steam at the end. Steam was not up and running back then, I joined it anyway.

What interests you the most about this platform?

The prospect of making money while having fun. I tried Tsu before but it wasn't much fun, This looks more promising though. It's a little like Reddit which I use quite often.

Arts, Animations, funny stuffs, music, videos anything that is interesting to me.

What do you like reading about?

Stories, jokes, fun facts, articles of interest

What do you plan to write about?

I plan to write comments, questions about things I want to know more about and about the events of The KtmDrive of which I am part of.

Wow interesting to know the different ways people hear about a project. Welcome and would be interested to get your perspective from Kathmandu and learn about your events at KtmDrive!

Thank you, It seems like I am the only one from Kathmandu around here. I'll definitely be posting about the events from KtmDrive.

Hello, I'm Jerome. How did I get here? I was looking at cryptos on Bittrex the other day and happened to notice Steem. That led Me tk go to Steem's website. And, a turn here and a turn there. Glad I'm here. I want You all to know that should I post anything and it seems out-of-place or should be posted another way (proper) way please let Me know. I'm learning and confess that I do NOT know nor understand everything about Steemit, yet.

Welcome! Makes sense that being listed on Bittrex gives Steemit exposure. What other cryptos are you trading? Don't worry you can just read posts in the steem category to catch up and the whitepaper for details.

I like this Welcome thread! perhaps the category for this could be "Welcome new Steemers (Steemians?!)" Maybe the Categories of "Welcome" and "Users guide to Steemit" (or something along those lines) could be 'sticky' at the top of the categories list :-)

And I am "digging" the gardening category!!

Yes those are good ideas. Not sure if people have decided between Steemers or Steemians or something else
Great seeing your content on gardening!

Of course we're Steemians!

Onceuponatime recently came to visit me in Chile, after seeing my advertisement on a webseries about cryptocurrency. On his urging, I jumped in and have been very impressed. Glad to be among so many fellow travelers!

Great to hear! Yes he actually introduced me to the Fort Galt project. Glad to see liberty strong in Chile! Look forward to updates!

  • I've been in crypto's for some time, I think they are going to play a huge part in our future so I want to be involved.
  • I found out about this after I saw STEEM on coin market cap and was just trying to figure out what it even was. I stayed because I think this community is awesome and I think this project has some serious potential.
  • I'm still learning about the platform, I only found out about it a few days ago, but I think this is a perfect combination of reddit and what LTBCoin was trying to do.
  • Not sure yet, but it will almost definitely be crypto related.
  • Things that are going to break the mold now but be totally normal in the future. I think Steem will be there, Maidsafe, and DAO's.
  • I guess I'm going to have to find out.

Awesome. Yes Coinmarketcap is good website to get exposure. Market capitalization is a good indicator of potential so it makes sense for more people to check Steemit out from there. I'm curious to know what the latest is on Maidsafe. I check in every once in a while. Anyways see you around!

What's your story and what brought you here?

I am an active gridcoin miner/maintainer and steem has caught our community's eye.

How and when did you first hear about steemit.com?

I heard about steemit on a gridcoin forum.

What interests you the most about this platform?

We always surrender a bit of privacy when we post on social media. With other platforms, we let others monetise our content and our privacy. Steem seeks to turn that on it's head. I like that.

What content do you like curating, reading and writing?

If my activity on Reddit is a guide, then I will most likely actively participate in topics like #meditation, #NewZealand and #politics, with aimless and fun meandering elsewhere.

Welcome! I'll look more into Gridcoin. Look forward to your posts on the variety of topics!

How and when did you first hear about steemit.com?
It was hangout "Beyond bitcoin"(youtube) where Bytemaster introduced Steemit.

Great to hear! Do you follow Bitshares as well?

Yes, I do. Bitshares is a great platform!

What’s your story and what brought you here?

I am jademont, with ID "ripplexiaoshan" in bitsharestalk. I have been the moderator of the local Chinese subforum since the birth of BTS. I was absent from BTS community for a few months(not really quit but inactive) due to personal reason, and now I am back. I know steemit from bytemaster, who is a genius.

How and when did you first hear about steemit.com? (Was it word of mouth? Was it a post on another forum or social media platform? Was it a video? )

From posts in bitsharestalk.org.

What interests you the most about this platform?

Innovative! I like everything about innovation.

What do you like reading about?

Everything as long as it is eye opening stuff.

What do you plan to write about?

I will focus on translating or forwarding news about Blockchain or new economy happening in China , at the beginning. Later, I will write comments.

Welcome ripplexiaoshan! Glad to see BTS supporters from China getting involved!

There was an article in the Guardian newspaper (uk and online) about the apparent value of steam dollars multiplying. What caught my eye was less of the digital (crypto) currency focus and more on the the fact that this site seems so different from the kinda tired social media apps/sites out there. I am guessing it's relatively new, could be wrong! Looking forward to reading and inputting content where possible!

I was researching a Reddit user named FiletofFish1066 for an article I'm writing that's coming out soon on the Intetesting Engineering website. I stumbled upon a story here and was intrigued. That was ten hours ago and now I've created three posts here. This is like an elaborate rabbit hole I've found. I love the idea as I've grown weary of Facebook but I like social media.
I write a lot. It's my job actually. I'm a ghostwriter for a CEO. And I make a little money from Amazon and Youtube but not enough.

Discovered steemit reading Stellabelle and was intrigued with the idea. Jumped down the rabbit hole and now exploring what this incredible vision and adventure can be. Excited to share and learn from the people here and see where we go. ~ljl~

How and when did you first hear about steemit.com? (Was it word of mouth? Was it a post on another forum or social media platform? Was it a video? )

I was introduced to Steemit by a friend, @DocCrypto . He has been a blog/vlog subscriber of mine for some time and suggested to me that I would benefit from including my posting content on Steemit.

What interests you the most about this platform?

The fact that I have the potential to earn more money for my content (and curation). I've been relying on AdSense for years and because of changes in revenue distributions there, Steemit will be good medicine for what ails this tired blogger. As long as Steemit continues to grow and offers robust rewards, I will absolutely stick around as a content creator.

What content do you like curating?

By nature, I am a jokester, so I like playful banter. I will also curate about things I am passionate about, especially about healthy and stress-free living.

What do you like reading about?

These days I definitely enjoy reading about crypto currencies and evolving tech. Science and technology, travel and photography (and humor) all peak my interest.

What do you plan to write about?

I like to write about most anything, but my main focus is retirement and expatriation... especially revolving around living in and around the tropical Western Pacific and the Philippines. My wife and I live there and also spend much of our time in Guam. I am also very tuned into meterology as I spent 25 years in that career field. So here I am... a nooby minnow trying to make fish-heads and fish-tails of it all, pun intended. Follow me if you will... I'm not really all that boring.

What's my story?

I am a marketer and I am attracted to emerging project like a moth to light. A friend invited me over skype

What interests you the most about this platform?

I've got to be honest...my greed glands

What kind of content I like curating?

I curate anything I find interesting and what I think will be trending.

What I plan to write about

I plan writing about marketing and Growth Hacking

Great. I think we definitely need more marketing talent here. Lol re: greed glands. Money does motivate so I think Steemit definitely has some good incentive mechanisms in place. Look forward to your posts!

Thanks @steemrollin
