Sjennon Sees - Behind the scenes at SteemFest² - Day #02

in steemfest •  7 years ago  (edited)

Goodmorning! Hello hangover!

Actually, not so much since I acted like an actual, responsible grownup this year, but that didn't stop my brain from being exhausted. And it was early. Very early.

We took the bus to the location of the venue where the entire first day would take place. We got ourselves five neat SteemFest buses which brought us to the venues or the hotel.

On day two, we went to Centro Cultural de Belem or CCB for short. According to Wikipedia it is the largest building with cultural facilities in Portugal. The CCB's 140,000 m² spaces was initially built to accommodate the European Presidency, but adapted to provide spaces for conferences, exhibitions and artistic venues (such as opera, ballet and symphony concerts), in addition to political and research congresses, high security meeting halls, and a 7,000 m² exhibition area.

The location was amazing. It was giant and had quite a lot of facilities as well as sandwiches and snacks throughout the day. Once outside, we had a view of the bridge, the river and all the crazy monuments and other architecture.

Here I am being crewy, delicious and ugly because I couldn't see shit because of the sun. @things looks beautiful as always though.

Throughout the day, my main location was at the desk where people could sign up for the @t-r-f fund. Bothering people to look up their boardingpasses or flight confirmations. We had an amazing view - ahum. Well, at least we could stare and grab the food throughout the day!

However, I got the chance to attend one talk - @surfermarly. She spoke about her experience on Steemit and how she got where she is now. She spoke about her new charity @dreamsoftheocean which is really worth looking into, so click on that username!

Also, I mean like, I don't want to brag, but do you see that beautiful, sophisticated piece of artwork at the bottom right?

Naturally, at the end of the day we had our well deserved dinner. And alcoholic beverages, obviously.

The alcoholic beverages didn't stop here though. We got back into out beautiful bus and got dropped off at the Snooker Club. A bar, or club, with a bunch of pooltables where you could enjoy a drink or two. Or three. Or four. Or just losing count. And play some snooker or pool.

Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of this - however, I managed to get my quality time with the camera and @berniesanders. Hopefully, we can access these images soon.

Also, @nanzo-scoop, we still need a picture!

It's definitely fun! Thanks for stopping by :D

Hope we will be there next year. Went to SF1 and this year looks like a lot of fun too...

You should've been! It was a bit bigger, but amazing nontheless.

I have every intention to be there next year too - so hopefully we can meet then if not next year in Asia :D

Sounds all good... hope to be there next year too but you never know where life takes you. Would be handy if they do one in Asia hehe....

Maybe next year! Who knows :D

oh the hangover.....
and the FOOD.....!!! And the place!!! It was surely exceptional!!!
Oh yeah, let's see what happens with that trf now ;)

Hehehe, surprisingly not so much hangovers actually. But it was amazing for sure!

I absolutely loved Lisbon - I am genuinely planning to return to it. I felt like it was too short.

And yeah! I have no idea how much that'll be to be honest, hehe.

Not so much!??
You're a hero girl hahahaha!!
I liked Lisbon.I've been before once but for a little while again, only one day/night (long layover) and now it was short too yes. I am not thrilled (maybe 'cause I fell in love with Barcelona instead ;) ) It was our vibe while I liked more!! Wherever that will be again!!
Yeah me neither let's see!!!

I guess Berlin trained me pretty well! Haha, you shall find out once you get here - BEERS BEERS BEERS!

It's a shame it's for such a short time - we definitely missed you at the closing dinner!

Barcelona is beautiful too, I have to admit. I have been there just once though.

But I really did like Lisbon - I had no expectations whatsoever and was pleasantly surprised. The language though sounds like a mixture of Spanish and Polish or something :')

:( I wish I were there indeed... :( But @themonetaryfew sent me the food picture so I kinda felt I was :D
Yeah, it is very close to Romanian actually and French, so me speaking both helps me understand them, but I can't say a word :P I can only speak in Spanish a bit because of my native Italian, but that's that - Portuguese, not really. But I like the sound!!!

Bro, how many languages do you speak/understand. It sounds like a crazy lot!

I speak fluently Greek, English, Italian and French, quite good Romanian (that's why Latin languages are ok-ish for me, did some Latin too at school+uni), communcational Danish (that's why I understand Swedish, Norwegian and German - done some in the past but don't really like it...) Then, Turkish - but I'm rusty, I don't talk to anyone anymore... :( Started Chinese recently and basic knowledge of Arabic and Hebrew ;) I think that's it :P :D :D :D Ok, I love languages - maybe I should mention that to my description here haha! How's Amsterdam??? He got 2 degrees here last night...so...Winter is here!!!

Oh my jesus fucking god. That is crazy. I am super jealous!

I speak.. Eh Dutch and English and some super basic German (tho understand way more than I speak).

That's it :') Oh and some touristy knowledge of Spanish, Italian (I always mix those two up tho) and French (you know: yes, no, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, please, thank you). But those do not count :P

Amsterdam is cold! I arrived in 3C and now I am working from home. Where it's nice and warm :D

You don't take a photo of the fish :D

I know! I noticed as I was creating the post - I guess I was too hungry to wait for a picture hah! :D

It was nice sitting next to you at dinner :D

I took one of the fish but as I was hungry like you it was half left there when I did :P
