I have to say, mate, you've done a spot on job bringing to light a lot of my concerns with this platform. I am, as you referenced, one of those people that think that if I post meaningful content that it will stand on its own value; but then as I explore the site it definitely seems like a lot of BS is floating to the surface.
On the other hand, isn't this the internet in general? Our social networks are nothing but circle jerks. But what can we do? Where's the solution? Hell, do people even want a solution? Real shit scares people because it's challenging and unknown, it doesn't fit in their little box that they can control.
Either way, this piece has far more insight into the human condition than people might realize--it goes well beyond steemit. And so as I give credit where credit is due, I just want to say I truly appreciate your honesty and wisdom here, for whatever that's worth. (Promise, this isn't a jerk-off).
Cheers, and thanks for the authenticity.
Thank you.
Yes, it's a circle jerk. But it's here, and there are thousands of people using it AND there is the POTENTIAL to earn some fake internet money while doing it.
Plus, the best part about this platform is that you can pay to get exposure. I'm not aware of another blogging platform that offers that. And if you do it right you make your money back.
I"ll touch on some of your points in my next article
