Had to give you the 100% upvote on this one! Great positive blog that made me laugh out loud. We loved our Honeymoon to Bali and definitely felt rich when we were there, but more than financially, rich with love and the kindness of the people we met there! I am going through something very similar. I am trying to do 1 thing that scares me every day. Singing in front of people would be terrifying to me - I'll put that on my list...for later.

But part of the goal of Steemit is to get rid of gatekeepers. You shouldn't have to adapt to the early investors on the platform. You should be able to create great content and have your audience find you. In the same way that Youtube got video producers out of the way between a creator and their audience, Steemit needs to get Whales out of the way so creators can connect directly with their audience.
Essentially, even if all the Whales were to hate a post, it should still have the ability to be successful based on a rabid audience of fans. That is not the case today, the Whales and Dolphins are still tastemakers vs activating the long-tail.

I think you should check out @minnowsupport because they are trying to band the minnows together so that their content is able to be seen! Oh it didn't take any special talent, more of an accident how it came out. I just write for a while and then I think of a keyword that it would be cool to have a picture for. Then I go look for a picture from the internet (I try to find copyright free but sometimes I just grab something.) I save it to my desktop.
Then when I'm composing a post where it says "Insert images by dragging & dropping, pasting from the clipboard, or by selecting them" I click on the hyperlinked "selecting them" and attach the right photo. The Steemit photo link will appear after what I wrote.
To see how it's going to look you scroll down to the preview screen and you can see how the photo interacts with the text. I haven't made that much effort to get it to look perfect. Just if I notice a few words wrapping around the photo awkwardly in a way that makes it hard to read I usually edit the text down so that the photo comes at a more natural break in the text. You can experiment with leaving a blank line between the text and the photo or not - look down at the preview window and you can see how it looks with and without the space.
That's basically it. There are people who embed their photos so perfectly it looks like a magazine. I just eyeball it ;-)

Totally agree with you we have to support each other that is both in life and in the community of steemit, it is true that at first you have to process a lot of information and maybe you can feel a little uncomfortable, I have few days on the platform but I think that little by little I dissipate many doubts, I really like to interact a lot but being very precise, and I fully understand what you raise in your post.

Hi @guarddog, I would recommend not taking it so seriously. I had a breakdown which I wrote about when I first joined. It can seem really intimidating with so much happening and going on at once but just make friends, it helps to make you feel like you belong and then write about what you care about even if it is woodworking. I always read stuff that is clear the person put passion into, even if outside my interest!

Yeah...that's kinda a borderline clickbait title. Clickbait on other social networks really kinda hurts social networks in my opinion and kinda makes me not want to use those other social media.
Some of the content of the post is definitely positive for the noobies, but I still feel deceived.

Hi @cryptounicorn, I'm sorry you feel that way, it was listed under funny and was my attempt at using humor to positively encourage minnows and newbies on here.
I agree with you about click-bait and normally, I would not condone it if it weren't true. The thing of it is, is that is is true in this case and I was having a laugh when I realized today that Steemit made me millions.
Hope there's no hard feelings as it was not my intent at all. In my experience everyone here has been so jovial and up for a laugh that I never thought it would be taken otherwise.

I have a wild idea. I have just started a YouTube channel giving advice on investing in the crypto-economy. It's blowing up quick for a newbie. I gave advice to buy Chaincoin 3 days ago and the price has tripled. This has increased my subscribers from 7 to over 50 in 3 days with 400 views on my top videos.
I would like to start a live chat show where I interview fellow Steemians. Especially really interesting ones like yourself.
If I paid for the flights would you come to the Gold Coast and be my first interview? I have a 6 bedroom house (beach shack.... not a palace) and some really awesome housemates. 2 Spare rooms at the moment so your accomodation would be free.
Could be fun? And who knows, if you Passionately trust your heart, wherever it may lead. You might just inspire others along the way.

You're funny dropping my tagline at the bottom like that! The thing is... I HATE flying, I mean like seriously my heart hurts from the stress I go through panicking the whole time. It's not been conducive with travel, I tell you that much.
Right now, I have committed to staying put and giving it it's rest (except on visa runs) and I have one coming up here in a couple of weeks to KL. Once I get back it'll be another 2 months before I brave that big shiny metal bird again (and only because I have to)
So, while I am a positively trusting human (much to my detriment at times) I live for the stories and by all other circumstances would have taken you up on it! However, I'm also not a super-fan of boats which leaves me quite landlocked.
I'd be more than willing to do something via skype or something similar however if you want, let me know :)
