Muscles grow on your off days (rest days) from training.
Thats why you should definitely take rest days.
I usually split my workout like :
Monday : Chest & Biceps
Tuesday : Back & Trizeps
Wednesday : OFF
Thursday :Shoulder & Neck
Friday : Legs
Saturday : Cardio & Athletic training
Sunday : OFF
How often do you have to train as a beginner ?
Its up to you how fast you want to see results.
But I would say the minimum should be at least 2/3 times a week.
What is the best food ?
Thats hard to say because there are many diets and not all of them are for everybody.
Thats why I would recommend you at the beginning to just eat conscious.
No fast food, Soft drinks & a lot of candies & chocolate.
Like I said be conscious of what you're eating and if it's good for you or not.
