Paging Mr. Jiu-Jitsu

One of my goals on Steemit is to grow the jiu jitsu and mma community here. There's already such a large community on mainstream social media. With the explosion of the UFC, martial arts has taken over the social media world with the likes of Conor McGregor, Chael Sonnen, Josh Barnett, or anyone else with personality. One of my favorite jiu jitsu personalities is Mr. Jiu Jitsu.

Bring #matsavages to Steemit!

Mr. Jiu Jitsu is the persona of Michael Mihas, from Youngstown, OH. He's the creator of the term "mat savage" and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. I wouldn't call him a social media megastar yet, but he has a solid following, and I find him very insightful, influential, and entertaining. He loves to ruffle some feathers and speak some truth.

You should definitely check out some of his entertaining videos. His current stats on mainstream social media are:

Facebook: 173,662 followers

https://www.facebook.com/michaelmihasmrjiujitsu/

Instagram: 12,400 followers

https://www.instagram.com/mrjiujitsupage/

Twitter: 227 followers

I recently sent an IM to the one and only Mr. Jiu-Jitsu on Facebook. I invited him to Steemit, and he at least replied, so that's a start. I'm not sure if he'll seriously consider it, but he said thanks, and he'd check it out.

So, do me a favor Steemians. If you have a moment, take a minute and reach out to Mr. Jiu-Jitsu on one of your pieces of ancient social media software listed above. Maybe follow him there, leave a nice comment on a video that you enjoyed, and remind him that Steemit is here :)

Or not... His shit is fun to watch anyways.

I'd really like to see him here on Steemit, and maybe he'll attract some of his current followers to the platform, so that we can see much more martial arts content around here.

I think he'd be a great fit for Steemit because...

One of his key points is that he preaches to not be lazy. To not be lazy in life. To not be lazy in training. To not be lazy when you are trying to get ahead or become a champion. One of the most difficult things about convincing people to sign up for Steemit, is that they are lazy. They don't want to take the time to sign up and wait for approval. They don't want to take the time to learn on a beta platform, or many of the early alpha sister sites. They don't want to take the time to learn the ins & outs of Steemit. They don't want to take the time to learn about digital currency, it's uses, it's ability to change lives and help people, and how to use and secure it. They just want the money for posting bs to social media, but not to take the time to write, film, produce, and promote original content. Mr. Jiu Jitsu would fit right in, because if he is truly interested, he'll come at Steemit without laziness, and we'll see some pretty special content.

looks like keenan cornelious could be an early adopter of steemit

I'd say it's very possible. He has followed and liked some of the steemitbjj

Great idea @jiujitsu. I follow Mr. Jiu Jitsu on FB and he's always got some funny or insightful shit to share. I'm going to send him a message on FB and invite him to come on over. He posts a ton of original content so this platform could really be a great fit for him plus it would help to increase the BJJ community. Happy Thanksgiving if you're in the US.

I'm glad you get why I think he's a good fit for Steemit.

Fol

Haha that's pretty awesome! Yeah, I had already msg him on fb about Steemit. I didn't want to badger him, but I was secretly hoping someone would enjoy the post enough to share it with him.

Your master plan has worked and I think he'll eventually come over. It's so new that most people have no idea it even exists. All in due time...

I am with you too , Huge potential for the BJJ community here and it could really help out different projects and spread the word about the sport we all love . osss
