Steemit Update [ January 16th, 2023 ] : Community Curators for February - Applications Open

in steemitcommunitycurators •  2 years ago  (edited)

We hope you are all enjoying another month of the Community Curators.

Team Millionaire and Team Newcomer have been working well. We will therefore be keeping both of these in February.

So if you would like to have a chance of being selected for a Community Curation team for next month now is the time to make your application.

The Community Curators for February

For February we are again inviting individuals to apply if they would like to be Community Curators.

From the individual applications we will select seven teams.

Assuming sufficient suitable people apply the teams will each have seven members.

Again there will be no specific themes allocated for each team - except Team Millionaire who will be supporting contests and Team Newcomer who will be supporting people in their first three months.

All other teams will be free to vote on posts on any subject.

We also want teams to look beyond communities. There are many good posts that are outside of any communities - just directly on people’s personal blogs.

Teams should seek these out.

The Curation Teams in February should again allocate a portion of their voting power for voting on the best comments.

High quality relevant comments add extra richness to the Steem blogging ecosystem.

Good comments can be as interesting and as valuable as good posts.

We want good comments to be encouraged and rewarded.

How to Apply as a Community Curator

If you would like to be considered as a Community Curator you should make a post including…

  • A brief summary of your history on Steem.

  • Details of any positions of responsibility you have held on Steem.

  • Details of specialist or professional skills or expertise you have in ‘real life’.

  • What country you live in and what languages you can read fluently.

  • Your key stats - own SP, CSI, Reputation, Delegations.

  • Any subjects you particularly enjoy curating.

To apply to become a Community Curator you must have a reputation of at least 70 and you must have at least 5500 SP of your own (not delegated to you).

Previously selected Community Curators are welcome to apply again for February.

Please indicate in your application if you would be willing to be on Team Newcomer.

Keep posts brief and easy to follow. Include the tag #curatorapplication in the first four tags.

Applications can be made in any language.

Posts should be submitted by 11.59pm UTC, on Wednesday, January 25th, 2023.

How Community Curators will be rewarded

Every day all teams will be allowed to allocate one full vote to a member’s post - ideally in rotation. If a team has less than seven members, members can potentially receive more than one vote per week.

In total no more than 10% of the account’s voting power should be used on team members each week.

Additionally each week one member should post a report for the team in the Steem POD community with a list of their top 7 posts, with a brief note of why each post was chosen.

These posts should set beneficiaries to share the rewards with other members of the team.

The posts will be voted by @steemcurator01.

This reward structure will apply to Team Newcomer as well.

Thank you to this month’s Community Curators. You are all welcome to apply again for February.

The selections for the Curation Teams will be announced by the end of the month, with a view to starting at the beginning of February.

The Initiative of Steemcurator teams slowly became a strong supportive tool that also taken pressure off the Steemit Team and covering the majority of users throughout the Steemit. The more people from different countries are among the curators the bigger number of communities but also countries covered. I hope we will see more new names too.

You have written well my friend. Indeed one of the best initiative by the team is the community curator initiative. With the community curators, almost everyone on the platform becomes visible because the support given to various users keep them more active and ready to do more so as to be selected among the top 7 in a week. I personnel got to learn about some good authors via this initiative. Kudos to the steemit team and we hope more initiative will be rolled out soonest. #steem-on
