The Importance Of Public Speaking As A Life Skill.

This post is a continuation of my plan to implement innovative learning in the classroom so as to make learning more fun for the students, with the idea that they will absorb the information more freely and readily.

When a student leaves school and enters the working world, life becomes slightly competitive in the fact that there are simply are not enough jobs for everyone. This means that over and above having a good intellect which stems from a formal education, students should also be taught other life skills which will help them rise in society. One such life skill is the art of Public Speaking. In my opinion, it is very important for educators to assist their learners in becoming confident and good at public speaking.

"Ever since the days of Ancient Greece, one's ability to speak clearly and confidently in public has been an indication of competence in a person and people who have mastered the art of speaking are more likely to become successful.” - (Sosiawan, 2011).

This is a video of a student in my class who is practicing his skill in the art of public speaking. While all the other students are learning from him, they are also enjoying the more casual lesson.
