My Steem Journey - Update 03

Hi everyone, thank you for continuously reading the updates of my STEEMJOURNEY. The past week is quite good, as I have started receiving rewards for the content I posted and from all the upvotes and replies that I made, and that's not only in Steem but also in other tokens from all the other tribes that I constantly visit and interact its users with.

At the later part of last week, I applied to be an APPICS beta tester and I was given the chance to try out the app. As of this posting, I only posted a couple of photos but I can say I am satisfied as to how the app functions. To those who don't know, APPICS let you post photos to your Steem blog. It also offers filtering options for your images so they can look better when uploaded. Fast-forward, one of the future plans is to reward users with its own APPICS token (APX) for using the app - which is primarily its purpose, that is, reward social media users for the efforts and their activities online. Also last week, they started their bounty program so if you have active social media accounts with a decent network size, grab the opportunity now and join their BOUNTY PROGRAM.

Recently, one of the main sources of my posts are Dlike - a website that works like Digg, for those who used or still use it. It lets you share links to webpages that you find interesting. While it doesn't provide too much add-on content from me, I ensure that the stories that I share will spark interest and are really news-worthy. If you want to have a try, head to Dlike and start sharing links to awesome content.

As mentioned in my previous posts, I like playing Steem Monsters. Having played Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon before (the combination of these two games are often referred to describe Steem Monsters), I enjoy the endless possibilities of combinations of creature armies and the strategy of playing against your opponents based on the match rules and the your opponent's past combination of creatures. One of the features that make Steem Monsters appealing is the DAILY QUESTS. Users are given a quest every day which they need to complete (at the moment, it's just to win 5 battles using a Splinter type that the game requires you to use) and if you complete the quest, you will be rewarded with a free card. I think if you are on a much higher level, you will be rewarded with more than one card (because I got two cards as reward maybe a couple times).

With those daily quest rewards, including my season rewards, I began accumulating cards which I can actually sell for profit or convert them into DEC tokens which I can eventually use to purchase other cards or items from the Steem Monster shop. But I prefer to give them away instead, that's why I started my KapengBarako's SteemMonsters Lotto Contest, a spin-off of my KapengBarako's SBI Lotto Contest. If you haven't entered the contest, I invite you to visit the corresponding those links and comment your entries (number).

If you haven't tried Steem Monsters, I encourage you to do so. However, many users still find the $10-deck purchase expensive, which is understandable given the fact that many of Steem users come from developing if not poor countries and that $10 is worth more than a day's work. But in case you have enough money to spare, and are really focused on building your Steem portfolio, I tell you, Steem Monsters is probably one of the best way to invest your hard-earned money in Steem.

I mentioned in my previous post how tribes can provide additional way to earn rewards through content cross-posting by using corresponding tags. Those additional rewards can also be earned when you curate content that are cross-posted across tribes. For example, you upvoted a post that is also cross-posted in PALNET, when rewards are given, aside from Steem rewards, you will also have a share on any PAL rewards that post has generated. Just make sure you have moderation in upvoting and curating content as your voting mana may run out. It will be so frustrating not to be able to curate something you just discovered and miss out on reward opportunities just because you upvoted like a loose cannon and exhausted all your resources.

For a more intuitive interface in using SteemIt, I recommend using Steempeak. As you may have noticed, I began changing internal linking to my blog to use Steempeak as the Steem interface. Currently, it has all the functionalities and the bells and whistles that I need. To be honest, I haven't explored its other features but I can say I am pretty content with the website. Most importantly, I just discovered this week that it now allows 10 tags when creating/updating a post. This is absolutely insane as it will allow you to use more tribe tags, thereby giving your content more exposure and more opportunities to earn rewards.

Lastly, since I post a few times per day (including my DLike shares), sometimes it is difficult for people to dig my old posts like the previous posts related to this STEEMJOURNEY, so instead just putting all the previous posts at the end of this post, I will also create a new page this week which will serve as a blog map for my more important posts, especially those which are part of a series. That way, people can easily navigate and find what they want.

While reviewing my earlier posts on this journey, I realized that my tag STEEMVESTING, though my intention is really put STEEM and INVESTING together, still sounded more like of VESTING STEEM assets. Regardless, I will continue to use it since I was the first one, as far as I know, who used that tag.
