Good work Steve, nice choice of music too, although I'm not a big fan of the new album

I think there are some great tunes on this album.

Doing well in 2018 Steve ;-)

I'd suggest doing lots of work on your Achilles and plantar fachia to help out with the calves.

Get that ankle joint mobility working, or you will find the tight calves will bit you in the foot ;-) (I've only now just come right from that problem)

I've not been to a parkrun. What's it all about?

Do you mean stretches? I've had someone here say you should stretch immediately before or after a run, but there is conflicting advice out there.

Parkrun is an international thing where people organise a free weekly 5km. I'd me surprised if there isn't one in Wellington. Okay, so there are some near you. I've not done one of their events, but a local club did something similar that I've run a few times. It inspires me to run a bit quicker.

I'd not suggest static stretching just before or just after a run. But working on the stiffness a few minutes at a time during the day works wonders.

You are not trying to stretch the muscles etc really, just loosening them up so you have good joint mobility. I do it while I'm making a cup of tea etc.

i learned my lesson the hard way about trying to get a really 'good' stretch. I could barely run fr three weeks because of it.

So now I stretch a little now and then, and it seems to work much better for me.

Thanks for the parkrun link. i'll check that out ;-)

Hi Steve - on this note I just want to add, that for the last 3 years I lived in Liverpool, where I got familiarized with the notion of Parkruns. A runner myself, I got to meet a good deal of people because of it, although our shared interest in running was the main factor. I moved back home not too long ago, and this post brought back the memories. Cheers, Andras

That's a pretty beastly run considering its your second of the year.. you'll be running marathons by summer

Wow i like people of strong will. I so long time want to start running but always find the reason why not to do it. The cold outside, tiredness, some other deals to do and so on. Great that you are running. Keep it up.

There is always a reason to not go running. You have to decide it it's worth it to you.

You inspire me, man! I should get back to running as well.

Wow...This is very good work.It is not also physical exercise but also enjoyment.
