Family Mart is already in Malaysia for a few month but it's impact now can be feel .

One of their strategy on making huge sale or profit is to make full use of their matcha ingredient .
Here is the other thing they use their matcha to produce .

So how they manage to pull it off? One of it is their presentation or marketing as a true japanese shop. i normally don't buy ready to eat food but their presentation is so good that i really go and spend.
Here is some of their food. look how well it is presented.

Family Mart strategy is very clear. Promote the green tea , take in a lot of matcha powder in large quantity to save cost and use the full potential of their matcha powder . When it come to food, they focus more on normal japanese household food instead of sushi .
As long as Family Mart remain , it will be a bad idea to try sell Matcha Ice cream or anything related to japanese food unless you really good in your japanese cooking . Or else your business is on the way to closure for sure.

i've not seem much of this marts around though. will surely try to lookout for them

Somehow i can't find the softserve in Family Marts in Tokyo..

That's interesting. I suppose their strategy is different in different countries to cater to the mass preference.

They have those ready-packed ice creams that look like softsrve but are definitely not soft. But there are of course plenty of shops selling these softserves :P

I used to at my place but had to stop coz not high demand.. so yeah, no more ice cream :(

maybe because malaysian love matcha ice cream so they bang on it .
