I made a quick stop by my nearest Goodwill and found what could be a nice score. I haven't been thrifting much recently, but will be starting to go in full force soon. If you like thrifting, no one has been to more thrift stores than me in the last 5 years, often hitting 15+ a day when locked in. I've found and sold thousands of items, so my experience can be helpful for any level of reseller.
The main score was a S1Digital media center in near mint condition for a cost of $81.64. It's only missing one foot pad, but it has several bonus cables to make up for it. It boots up smoothly on Windows software and the CD tray is functional. There's a used one listed on eBay with an asking price of $1,880 with no watchers, but that's not going to happen. That'll help mine look cheaper on the bright side. Other S1Digital models are in the $500-$830 asking range, so I might aim for $750 to not be greedy. It was sitting on the shelf for at least a full day before I got there, but I bet people shied away from the price tag or thought it was a bulky computer tower.
When this model was new, it appears to have been sold for $6,000, so maybe I need to research this a little more...
I hate buying things that are over $50 when they're potentially slow sellers. It's not the business model I want, plus something like this takes up space in my apartment... or can maybe be used on a spaceship to visit outer space.
The Mario Wii games are easy side flips. Each game was $5.43 (borderline pricey for margins), with the Mario Kart guaranteed to sell for $24, while the Mario Galaxy will be merged with a commemorative Mario Galaxy Club coin I already had for a $25 value combo package. These two small wins help cut into the outlay on the media server.
Tip 1 - When you see Windows operating system labels on anything that's not a computer, it's probably worth looking at. I've sold two Olive 03HD music servers years ago when they were valuable, so I'm familiar enough with this niche to spot them when most don't.
Tip 2 - Make sure the video games have their manuals/papers and advertise them as "complete" for maximum return. If they don't have the papers, make sure you specify that in your listings and anticipate a slight drop in resale value.
Please feel free to ask questions and follow for more.
Thanks,
@steemmatt
I've been thrifting through antique shops lately, as well as scrapping for precious metals. I'll have to remember to keep the goodwill store in mind when I do my rounds. You never know what you're going to found! Just the other day I found a $200 suit at goodwill and it fit me. Total cost: $20

Antique shops are tough because sellers usually research and price for profit, but the Goodwill is a no brainer for finding deals for yourself or to sell.
I found a mint condition $1,500-$2,000 sport coat (if new) for.... $8 a few weeks ago. Fits like a glove, but just need to lower the sleeves half an inch or so.
How are you hunting for metals? Do you use a metal detector or go panning?

No metal detector yet but I scrap electronics and look through coins. When all else fails I go buy a silver round. Don't know if there is any panning to do around here but I'm almost certain I find bits of copper gold and silver in some of the rocks I find.

Yep, super cool! I'm going to add you to my must read daily list to see what other treasures you find and flip! Mostly because I'm totally jealous. :)
