Keeping organized is what helps me to achieve business goals and prevents idea overload. Keep reading to hear my thoughts on how I can help boost your productivity.

Tips for boosting productivity

Be accountable:

Make yourself accountable. Have a partner or friend that can make you accountable and on task, do the same for them in return whenever you have important projects you want to complete.

Forgive yourself:

We’re all human after all so it’s important to forgive yourself, don’t be too harsh on yourself over what you didn’t accomplish and instead think about what you did do.

TAKE BREAKS!:

If you're going to work non-stop with no breaks, you will burn out.

Plan regular breaks whilst working so that you’re able to continue for the long run, not just the short term.

Delegate duties:

Your own business time can really get away from you because there is so much on your to-do list, but not enough hours in the day. This is when you need to rely on your team and start to delegate more to them.

Take notes:

As soon as something comes into your mind, take note of it somewhere. It doesn't matter if that's your mobile, note pad or a post it note. Get it out of your mind and organised into a to do list. At least you know you won't stress about what was that thought! As you've taken the first step in getting it done.

My favourite tools for staying organised

First and foremost, your phone and notepad should be your best friends and always by your side. That way when something comes to mind you can just note it down.

Asana:

This is used across all teams at Apply4U, I mainly use it for business tasks but it works to create lists and campaigns about anything and everything. Whenever I have a new idea, I say “add it into asana”.

Jira:

A must-have for development tasks to keep projects organised.

Good old excel:

What a classic. Regardless of the numerous new planning platforms being created everyday excel has never let me down, It’s good for keeping track of accounts, passwords and much more.

Google keep:

When I don’t have a notepad and pen on me this is my first point of call. I’ve always got my phone next to me so I can add into here quickly and easily whenever I need to remember something.

Google drive:

The home to my work documents and files. If you didn’t know already Google drive is an absolute lifesaver. If I have any issues with my laptop I know that everything is backed up.

Some other things my team have mentioned...

● Notion

● Alarms - Using alarms on your phone as well as on the laptop for calls and events just to have as a reminder if all else fails.

● Sticky notes - Writing down the 5-8 most important things to get done for the day and ticking them off as you go along.
