Lake Toba
Lake toba is a 1.145 square kilometer lake. In the middle of this lake there is an island that is almost the same width as the country wide Singapore.
The lake has a very large size and was named the largest lake in Southeast Asia and the second largest in the world after Lake Victoria in Africa. This lake also became one of the deepest lake in the world with a depth of about 450 meters.
This tourist area is estimated by experts formed because of the super volcano eruption around 75,000 years ago. Perhaps this is the largest volcanic eruption in the world by destroying 2,800 km of volcanic material and its ashes spreading to half the earth's territory.
Lake Toba is one of the amazing natural wonders on the island of Sumatra. It's hard to imagine the more beautiful scenery to visit in North Sumatra besides this place.
