What should I definitely visit in Portugal?

Yeah, it is something people usually miss out and it is very nice. Don't expect a full-on venice experience. There are just a couple of canals , but still, very nice town. And food is great.

And there's a very nice beach nearby too.

Don't leave Portugal without trying the Pasteis de Nata https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastel_de_nata
And in Aveiro, try the Ovos Moles.
In fact in every town they usually have something of a local specialty so it is worth asking what they recommend and what is best. People are very nice and helping, and they will be happy recommending you good stuff that brings a smile to you .

Do they still bbq fresh sardine catches on the beaches? I haven't been back for a long time.

I hope so, definitely wanna try those!

@stevelou This was a long time ago but so Portuguese - gusting N Atlantic breezes, big waves, clean sands and a simple charcoal grill ready for the fishermen carrying their plastic bags of sardines fresh from the catch....and lots of red wine, of course (the Fado was not for me, alas). Have a stunning time. Try the bacalhao.

Thanks buddy, really appreciated.😊

Those were sardinhas asadas. You can find them in many restaurants, but the best are by the sea and cheap. Don't bother to order them in a classy place. The crappier, usually the better.

Haha - exactly. Good to hear it's still the same;

Good to hear! I love to taste different local specialities!
Thanks for your awesome advice @perennial99, much appreciated.
