May I suggest that the real libertarian moment is exactly right now?

I've never in my life seen so many mainstream commentators taking the libertarian position on so many issues: checks and balances, limited government, modest foreign policy, free trade, free immigration, and ending police misconduct and the war on drugs.

The only difference -- a trifle, really -- is that they seem to think this stuff all started with Trump. It didn't, of course, but I'm not inclined to count that against anyone in times like these.

Americans have not normalised Trumpism. Trump has un-normalised business as usual. All it took was to do it a bit more conspicuously and outrageously than it had been done all along.
