- Both of Madmartigan and Sorsha's kids seem like they're straight out of 2023, with dialogue written by people who clearly have zero sense of the world they're shooting for or fantasy as a genre, filled with blunt and repetitive exposition... acted badly with wildly different accents. The girl is unbearable and boringly clichéd. The boy is paper thin and decides to marry the girl who is 100% definitely not Elora Danan after just making out with her for a bit.
Just garbage.
- The whole plot where a prophecy leads to a princess being hidden away, "even from herself", like Sleeping Beauty or Rapunzel is as overdone as it is dumb. Elora cannot return to "rule a kingdom" after spending a lifetime learning nothing whatsoever about what that means. Nobody is born with that skill set... And it never works anyway. The prophecy necessarily fulfills itself, or it doesn't.
I hate it.
Side note: Not every girl lead in fantasy shows needs to be a masculine swordfighter, but also... Not every physically tough girl is a lesbian. How many more stereotypes are we going to pursue here?
