Decentralized Limitless User eXperiences
The new new is here.
philosophy
Knowing where to begin; maybe that's the hardest part. We each have wholly subjective world views, what we care about and what we trust is also subjective. The only thing we must have between us in the now is the belief that on average[A] the other intends us no harm. If we go out in society or conduct any business then we trust people are interested in their own safety. It's what allows us to walk down the street, or to hire people to bodyguard us to walk down the street. That eventually the average person has an incentive, financial or otherwise, to act in a mutally agreeable way. What we can't know is the intent of every person or the lengths they are willing to go to act outside of that trust. A negative can not be proven.
Third party trust is everywhere. It's every interaction you have with a stranger, it's every signature that's ever been signed, it's every piece of property that has ever had it's direct owners eyes off of it. It's every website you go to and every public place you are in.
What you need to know is that radically better systems for 3rd party trust have been developed. You're reading this on one such system. The internet as originally conceived was a way for us to all come together, designed so with only an address we could connect and communicate. But we've seen all the problems of the past re-manifest themselves as ways to secure and game systems. The centralized mechanisms used for trust are archaic and anything but trustworthy. Now decentralized systems still manifest bad actors and we are faced with the real truth. We must stake our reputation that what we say and do is at least honest. Building upon a reputation I am planning to deploy self interested software. It's goal is to assist people in sharing ideas by funding itself. Showing people wanting to create experiences or be immersed in story how to earn from both aspects by asking for nothing but provable trust that what we did is equally available to all.
This allows us to near literally put our money where our mouth is. Acknowledge what we value is experience and our time. Simply believing that to be true allows every blog post on steem to be its own micro-reality[1]. With positional voice chat you can meet and discuss ideas in provably the same way[2]. We can "portal" to our own private version of any virtual space or concept[3]. Objects can be similarly referenced and appear to convey ideas in any space as well[4]. Our frameworks allow any kind of interaction or environment imaginable. An avatar system, social from the ground up as a way to interact in more real ways[5]. We can each enjoy and participate in talent shows and karaoke and have private watch parties and all simultaneously vote on our favorites[6]. We could host award shows where every person who voted had seen the movies.
goal
Virtual reality can replace any reality at the same marginal cost. "Free". A society where the incentive lies in making sure everybody is at least as capable of exercising their free speech as you, and we all benefit from staking with our reputation.
The achievable goal is already here. The incentive to write software that by it's use generates capital. This isn't a virus, this is viral incentive. Media in all forms will live on blockchain, software as written will constantly balance market forces to deliver a better product. Our current limit is 3 second block times instead of infrastructure... The blockchain has an intelligence, us. You're about to participate in the largest technological leap in history.
seed
The seed has been planted on github. Demonstrating a VR landing page with a link to a gallery, and steemconnect login. After login click "more testing". Upon loading a script asks for the vrHash IPFS location in the json_metadata of the post then loads that into an iFrame is served with A-frame and a built in controller. This can be messaged by any html that can be rendered in a browser; opening the door to AR and VR to both initiate: voting, flagging, resteeming, and sending requests to open new steem posts(reload the iFrame with a new hash from a new referenced post. The gallery is also viewable and is included a basic avatar with positional voice chat, bring a friend.
roadmap
- Design controller that includes blockchain interactions: vote, flag, resteem, pass links(other blog, trending page, log out) as well as displays post information like date and payout
- A-painter or similar to make posts
- Cement the ability to make certain static posts from the built in inspector
- Avatar system stored in Profile data
- Home environment/"my space" for users also stored in profile data
- VR environments to browse posts.
