Contribution to Esteem app Open Source Project

Component

The Esteem app is great for us to use on our Mobile phones. I have been using it for a while when I am not at the computer. I love it. I know that the project owner is going to issue a new version soon so I want to report this bug to the project owner to fix this before the soon release.

Proposal

Recently @esteemapp held a contest to ask users to participate to talk about our awesome journey using esteem. The whole thing got me involved with looking at all the features I have been using on esteem.

Along this line, it suddenly dawned on me that esteem app needs a feature of 'REFERRAL' link for users. In this way, not only can we promote by way of contest, but we can use all other opportunities to promote esteem app to our friends any time with a reward system given.

1. I propose to add the feature called: Referral

• here in this tab, it will have our name there as the person who refers others
• the referral link can look something like this: https://esteem.com?r=rosatravels
• so the referral can have our username embedded in there
• in this way, when a new user signs in with our referral link, it will reward us.

2. I propose to have the list listed under our Referral:

• On a page under our profile, the 'referral' tab also has a list of the people whom we have signed in using our referral link
• in this way, we can also have on record people who have signed in using our referral link
• this record is good for esteem team and also for each user
• it is a good track record for users so that we know how many of our advertising via facebook, twitter, etc have been successful or not

3. Reward system

• esteem team can then reward us for advertising for them
• they reward us and we bring more people in to use their app to build up their reputation
• the reward can be .5 SBD for each referral, or .5 STEEM for each referral
• and when the user brings in 10 people, then he can have a bonus of 3 SBD.
• In that way, this will motivate us to work harder and harder.
• it is a win-win situation for both.

Mock Up Examples

1. Go to the Profile Home page

• Tab on the left to see the menu there

2. On the menu there, add a REFERRAL tab

• I propose to put it further up so that people can see it easily when they open the app under profile
• this will remind them that they can refer people to use the app

3. The tab will take us to this page: esteem/referral

• It will have our referral link with our user's name:

https://esteem.com?r=rosatravels

• Under this referral link, it will have a list of people whom we refer to:

• I suggest to have the following table where it will register all users referred by us:

• this list is important for us to keep track of the number of people we have refferred to
• it can list out both the name and the date they came in to sign up

4. SBD rewards can be given out weekly by the esteem team onto our wallet:

• Eg. if we referrerd 4 people to come in, then we get 2 SBD for that week.
• this amount can appear weekly in our wallet.

Benefits

There are lots of benefits in this suggestion:

• people are more motivated to promote for esteem
• with more rewards coming in, we will promote more
• more people will use esteem app
• more people will support esteem
• esteem team reputation will get built up
• we can also vote them for witness
  etc.
