SteemNova - Development Log #2

SteemNova project lasts for 100+ days. Players are incoming from all over the world. Currently it is time of Russians, Turkeys and French. They all are forming structures for future big alliances. Right now there are over 630 Emperors in the Universe. The numbers doubled since last Development Log. SteemNova holds for the name of the biggest 2Moons-engine live server.

Development progress impose high pace. There are over 400 commits since the beginning of affair. Steem developers contribute kindly by submitting new issues and resolving them. Many thanks to @utopian-io platform which helps much in this process.

During near 4 months competition over 112 players earned 40,895 SBD through weekly and daily payouts.

Balance adjustments

  • Rebalance buildings and technologies cost
Changed formulas according to [Metal Mine](http://ogame.wikia.com/wiki/Metal_Mine) and other OWiki buildings/technologies.
- formula for building cost
- formula for technology cost
- formula for statistics calculation
- increase cost factor of Crystal Mine to x1.6 (already in sql script)
- decrease cost factor of Fusion Plant to x1.8
So it matches [online calculator](http://www.toolsforogame.com/costes/costs.aspx)
  • Bash rule as default. Players can attack up to 6 times each of enemy planet per 24h. This is inactive if war.
  • Disabled 2Moons new units. Removed 5 biggest ships and 3 biggest defense units from the game for balancing purposes.
  • Expedition mission pirates/aliens Technologies scaling

  • ACS randomization. Each ACS fleet is equally probable to being hit
  • Return attack if target planet was abandoned/destroyed

  • Expedition mission accelerated return times (1970 year issue)

Roadmap

Responsive modern UI

Modern user interface with full responsiveness directed especially at mobile usage is a must. Probably Bootstrap 4 CSS Grids will be used. Bigger links, no zooms and no page movings in mobile browsers is the main goal.

Rework Marketplace

Current Marketplace has many logic flaws. Players often use it as a "safe zone" hiding resources and fleets there. @dotevo plan is to rewrite engine so that offers will be waiting at planets rather than 17' position zone. They won't use fleet slots in this way.

Disable reflink system

SteemNova is getting integrated with Steem blockchain tighter. To adapt users to SteemConnect authentication, classical account registration will be deactivated in 2 weeks. Right now the registration link is hidden and available through reflinks only. Canceling this will make reflinks feature not work anymore too. SteemConnect doesn’t have such feature.

Diplomacy enhancements proporsal

Proposal to new diplomacy features in SteemNova to make Alliances better cooperate each other.

Officers rebalance

Many voices at Discord shouts that Officer bonuses are too cheap to achieve. Some of them are also too strong. Some balance in the future is needed.
Some players have unlocked all of the Officers already.

Rework is postponed due to more important things.

New: possibility to destroy planets. Same as destroying moons by Death Stars.

This is just an idea to make game more dynamic. Planets are much bigger than moons so destroying them is much harder. Everything will turn out after first Death Stars start to fly.

First Death Stars are already ruling Universe. Let's give them some more time to decide whether destroying planets feature is balanced or not.

New: Delegation attract system

Ingame delegation system will provide delegators to entitle ships. For example delegate can brand Little Fighter MYS-01 to show up for everyone. The amount of Steem Power will be ship production cost ratio in game.

New: Relocate planets over universes

Players will be able to move their planets to another coordinates. Paid probably in some big amount of Dark Matter. Prize suggestion: 50k Dark Matter to relocate planet. 250k Dark Matter to relocate planet with Moon (this is serious logistic operation for Space Builders!).

New: Honor Points

Players will be able to earn Honor Points for as a reward/punishment against who they attack. This will penalize Bandits who attacks weaker players and reward honorable players who fights only versus stronger opponents.

Starting from 1 April, Weekly payouts transition into Daily payouts. With summary payouts for each week.

The goal of SteemNova is to be win 2 pay type of game. Weekly payouts scheme is working pretty good. As an experiment these will change into Daily shares of whole SteemNova universe. Daily bulletins will provide more statistics data than it is now. Rewards each day means competing will be worth much more than 7-day cooldown. Payouts will be transferred once a week.

Above transition is working pretty good for a month. Nothing will change to that.

I missed You :( Your bug-hunting contributions were rejected by @utopian-io moderators. That's why it is not listed on the utopian.io SteemNova project list so I did not notice You.
