MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. The house has been vacant for quite some time now.

  2. vacuum
    The new mausoleum is a vacuum until the owner decides when and whose entombment should be there.

  3. evacuate
    The typhoon is so strong that residents need to evacuate immediately.

  4. vacation
    The family is planning to take a vacation to Disneyland with their kids.

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. There was only one vacant seat left on the train.

  2. Hoovers work by sucking air out of the tube pointed at the carpet, creating a vacuum which leads dirt to rush in to fill the tube.

  3. The fire alarm rang out to signal to residents that they should evacuate the building.

  4. The government legislated that employers had to give their workers at least 28 days vacation time a year.

  3. Villages near Mount Etna were evacuated as it looked like the volcano was about to erupt again.

  4. The couple saved up to go on a vacation of a lifetime to the Maldives.

  1. The woman circled the supermarket carpark trying to find a vacant parking space.

  2. Vacuum cleaners are much more efficient than dustpans and brushes in removing dirt.

  3. Across Japan sensors are in place so that people can be alerted to evacuate their buildings in the event of an earthquake.

  4. The schoolchildren looked forward to their summer vacation break at the seaside.

  • Vacant: The house still remains vacant since the day I saw them leaving it.

  • Vacuum: His sudden retirement left a vacuum, for which the company needed to hire a skilled person.

  • Evacuate: Due to the raging war between the tribes, they had no choice but to evacuate the only place they could call home.

  • Vacation: After many months of continuous working, a vacation was the only thing Jason longed for.

MY VOCAB PRACTICE.

  1. People outside, we have vacant chairs here, come inside!

  2. Form a circle inside your mouth and create a vacuum.

  3. Typhoon is coming, evacuate the area now!

  4. We had vacation last Christmas, so exciting!

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. The desk at the office will be left vacant due to a financial bottleneck.
  2. I'm so hungry, it feels like I have a vacuum in my stomach.
  3. The police had to evacuate the place of the crime.
  4. Last summer I went on a vacation to Italy.
