So I came across this video and it's totally true. Basically the guy is saying that in medieval times and prior, Europeans walked ball of foot first -> heel, instead of striking the heel of the foot to the ground first, because shoes were soft leather up until that point, and hard soles didn't start to really be a thing until more cities became more paved.
I say this is true based on my own experience: as he points out, people who walk barefoot a lot (me!) walk this way, too. And when you walk heel first, it's jarring to your skeleton. When I am barefoot, I walk ball-heel. But when I have hard sole shoes on, I walk heel-ball.
So how do you walk? Do you switch it up based on if you have shoes on like me or not?
