oh, gee... Wow, thank you for your service! I had no idea I was in the company of such greatness. I am also honored to chat with one of the critics of my 5 minute freewriting story. (sarcastic)...
I was not in an "elite" unit or even the 82nd Airborne (82nd was the first unit that popped into my head at the moment). I did, however, serve 12 years active duty (4 years USMC and 8 years US Army) in a combat arms capacity (12B) with 3 combat tours (2 in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan). If you care to hear more of my personal qualifications to write a 5 minute story about a female private talking with a a senior NCO while on staff duty I will be glad to interact. I will not bore you with anymore about me....
I do wish to talk more to you about why you are so triggered about my story though. While I would agree with you that women are not as capable as men are, generally, I did not know my story would take this turn until the second prompt of the challenge. I was sort of railroaded into creating a female character. I would LOVE to read some of your writings as it would teach me more about you!
I am glad to hear you have a daughter who will not be enlisting in the US Military as she has "critical thinking skills". I would hope that my daughter, also, will not follow in her father's footsteps. I cannot say overtly that my daughter "WILL NOT" (your phrasing) join the military in any capacity as when she is old enough to make her own choices I hope to have instilled into her "the ability to temper ideals with critical thinking". (again, your phrasing)
Again, thank-you for the thoughtful response to my silly little story and I look forward to reading from you in the future.
