Is anyone else "friends" with scorpions?
The Striped Bark Scorpion (Centruroides vittatus) is the most commonly encountered scorpion in the United States. In fact, it is the only species that @papa-pepper has ever encountered in the wild. It can be found throughout the southern United States and Northern Mexico.
This is one of two scorpions that we recently caught. I was hoping to locate some soon, and as it turns out, the @little-peppers knew of a place where they can be frequently be found. (Aren't kids great?) Did you know that scorpions are arachnids, like spiders are, and they are not insects? Whether you realized that or not, there is more info in the video. Enjoy it!

I live in Costa Rica on a mountain and here we have many skorpions often inside the house. We moved here about 6 months ago and so far I cought about a dozen of them in all sizes from tiny to big. One was on the bed and the big one actually was on my external harddrive, enjoying the heated air. I like them but I need to save them from my wife. ;)

What a gorgeous creature. I evicted a fairly large black scorpion from a house in Thailand a few months back. Also kicked out an 8 inch long Scolopendra centipede and bird-eating spider aka Thai tarantula. That 'pede was no joke! A tough customer. I have faced down a spitting cobra in Bali and the Scolopendra scared me more LOL. Awesome pics and video.

They live under humid ground at about 2 feet and they are not dangerous
The other friend is a big black scorpion from Thailand little like the other one like to go deep about 1 or 2 feet it is not a deadly one but it can give a big fever for a few days
And let's say for finish today another very good friend to manipulate with precaution as it bite very strong and don't give up for hours but with calm moves and good heart there is no problem to handle him, the gecko.
I have many other friends here in north Thailand we have jungle and mountain. I really love your post Thanks you
