Hey fellow Steem mates. I hope today finds you extraordinarily well. I know today finds you hopeful for the new year, as it is still new, and the hope of it is shiny and alluring. So how can retain this and keep the hope of the year alive all the way through to its end? The best tip I can provide you today: GET UP EARLY.
Do some research! Every successful person gets up early. They may not go OUT early, but they get up. They are persons of routine. And I will share with you one routine that you can follow that will significantly improve your creativity as you go through your days and make it successfully motivated through to the end.
I created an acronym: GEARED
Before you can get GEARED (I'll explain shortly) you have to get up--so lets set ourselves up for a successful wake up
Commit to follow this routine for 30 days. It will be hard at first, but remember, "If you keep going the same way you will get where you are headed." Statistically, you and I are headed to declining goal and goal drop off by about March, UNLESS we make intentional choices the keep our motivation sparked and feed our goals with small successes that hold promise of big successes. :)
A. Move your alarm to the bathroom and wherever you put it place next to it a large glass (10-20 ounces) for water. Fill your glass with water each night before going to bed
B. Acquire some peppermint essential oil (ask me if you need a quality source: Walmart versions don't work) and place it next to bed where your alarm used to be
C. Create INTENTION. The LAST thought you have before going to sleep is the FIRST thought you will have upon waking. Make it something like: "Today is a new day and I get to get up and make the most of it so that I can go to bed and rest well knowing that I did my work very well."
I. When your alarm goes off (no later that 5:30 AM please)
a. place a drop of peppermint oil in your hands and cup your hands over your nose. Breath DEEPLY.
b. get out of bed--shut off alarm. Drink your water. This hydration will begin to help you wake up. Brush your teeth. You may want to add oil pulling to your morning routine as well. This is a perfect place to insert it. Simply buy a squirt bottle and add any liquid cooking oil of your choice to it, and use this bottle of oil to squirt approximately 1 TBSP of oil into your mouth. I add 2 drops of clove essential oil for extra purifying. You will hold this in your mouth for 20 minutes and spit it out only after your coffee or tea or other morning beverage is ready. The oil pulls toxins out of your mouth tissues, which will benefit your overall health and wellness.
II. Make coffee. Use a French Press for the best quality (presses allow the coffee to retain their natural oils and also keeps more of the caffeine). Pour your brew in a blender and add: 1 TBSP each of Maca root (an excellent adaptogen), MCT oil, grass-fed unsalted butter, cocoa powder (an excellent source of magnesium) and grass-fed collagen protein. Add milk or creamer if you prefer. Blend well and enjoy. If you don't drink coffee mushroom beverages are an excellent alternative. foursigmatic.com has some good ones.
III. Get dressed as appropriate for your GEARED activities...
NOW, it's time to get GEARED right for success
G> Gratitude. Spend 5-10 minutes in prayer or using guided mediation. During this time you will visualize all the items in your life for which your are grateful and you will give thanks for them.
E> Exercise. You may simply want to do jumping jacks or you may want to take a walk or you may choose to go for a run or a swim. The point here is to move. Of course you may need to adjust your above steps to accommodate this. If you are exercising heavily you will want to use your last step to get dressed in appropriate clothing for this exercise and shower when it is complete then continue your GEARING
A> Affirmation: Speak an affirmation out loud. Use this formula to create an affirmation that will work well for you.
I am committed to (whatever outcome you want to see) and will (whatever action will take toward achieving your desired outcome)(provide a timeframe--today, this week, etc. Keep it short and more immediate, requiring your action TODAY) NO MATTER WHAT because if I don't (what is the result of inaction...)
R>Read: 5-10 minutes in your book of choice. I believe using a biblical devotional is the best use of this reading time and suggest one such as Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest. You may read whatever you prefer. Make it motivational or educational.
E> Envision: Picture yourself doing what you need to do to arrive at your goal
D> Develop the experience by writing down a summary.
Now shower and get on with your day. You spent your first 60-90 minutes very well, and will find that your next 12 hours will be very productive. Keep your vision in mind. Work steady. Never Rush...and Never Rest during your working hours.
Meditative practices set successful people apart. Look to what you have, give thanks and envision what you want to have that you do not yet have. Then work. You will get there. But you will not ever get what you want if you can not clearly define it, nor will you get what you don't have if you are not thankful for what you do have.
Try this out and comment back if it helps you. I know it was life changing to me when I first started doing my mornings like this. It also gave me a sense of HOW to meditate, so that I avoided simply falling asleep, and defeating the good purpose of the time I dedicated. If you need essential oils just ask. I would be happy to tell you about some excellent promotions and right now you can even earn $100 in free oils. This will certainly boost your year by boosting your health!
Many blessings--Tanya
Remember: Never Rush and Never Rest...Simply Focus.
