What the hell am I doing and why am I doing it?

I'm sacrificing a daily story today because New Years. Because people might be wondering what the [expletive deleted] is going on with this particular blog. Because I'm posting three archive stories a day, now, and this will keep the numbering logical for my poor, addled head.

I have some corners of OCD in my mental makeup. Keeping things organised is a semi-obsession that I wish would spread into my living space. Not easy with four nerds in the house who would rather do computers than cleaning. Ahem.

I have been writing instant stories - flash fictions based on audience prompts - for four years. I felt that throwing everyone in the deep end with a bunch of mystery numbers at the start of every entry would be confusing to everyone. Having the old stuff there shows people that (a) there is a reason for the numbers in the title, and (b) this thing actually has helped me improve my writing.

Yes. I know the early ones suck. They throw the new ones into sharp comparison.

Secondly, I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear about my boring life and I have to keep something on the URL I own because that's the central hub for all of my noise. People know me as internutter and will find my everything at internutter.org [which reminds me, I have to learn how to update my site's menu again. I forget things I don't use frequently].

At three (usual) story-posts a day, it's going to be over a year before I get back around to the Instant that got posted here, fresh. That's the day when I'll start posting whatever's on my mind about writing and how to make it easier. Writer versus Tropes, perhaps. It's still gas, for now. Hell, I might share some fanfics I'm working on.

Be warned, enjoy the instants while you can. Sooner or later, I will try to enlist you into also enjoying the things that I enjoy. Which is everything strange and intriguing and slightly bizarre.
