I don't see the point of reading someone's translation. People who are experts in Greek translated it for the NIV.

Not only is the NIV a corrupted version which is translated from the Alexandrian manuscripts which have omitted many scriptures and perverted many other verses and omitted the Name of Christ in many places but the very company responsible for its work is called the Lucius Trust formerly known as the Lucifer Trust. Just as an example, show me in your version Matthew 17:21.
Finished looking? It's not there because it was omitted because this verse speaks of how to defeat the enemy, satan! You have been deceived by him! When you look for wolves in sheep's clothes be on the look out for those who look like sheep, not like wolves as they are obviously wolves! It is the subtle, the small things that you will only spot if you are led by the Holy Spirit! Because even the elect would be deceived if it were not for the fact that they are led by the Holy Spirit! Make sure your election before you go making judgements on God's Word! By the way verse 36 above you pasted and was also omitted as you can clearly see and verse 37 speaks of vultures in your version whereas the original Greek uses the word Aetoi which means eagles not vultures! And the word for dead body in the Greek there says soma which can mean body(dead or alive) but also body of stars just as the Greek word ptoma means the same!
So yes there is many reasons as to why to correct modern vile translations including the "venerated"KJV version! God's Word cannot be translated by the usual "scholars"as they do not know nor have the Holy Spirit. They only have the flesh and are led by it. Most christians in fact serve a false god who does NOT conform to God's Word and they commonly break God's first three commandments on this fact alone! They have a picture of "god"in their head which is the one they wish to have for themselves and is according to satan's original lie, that they can be gods themselves and so they are their own gods most often! These people have never followed God in Truth and by His Holy Spirit! Seeking only to please self. God reads our hearts yet obviously many do not believe this because they lie to themselves in their hearts and do not even know God's Word nor the fact that it says this very thing! This is also why the number recorded as being a part of God's elect is very small indeed! Don't misread here and take it as a salvation matter because it is not! All who call on His Name shall be saved but not all those will be part of His elect! The elect are those who live with Him at all times and are those who obey Him at all times! The majority are the opposite living in disobedience to His commandments!
