I am very proud to have stuck to working out during my trip to Montreal and for my last class, I invited my mom to come with me to do yoga. We got there early enough for me to instruct her on how to use the rower properly and we did a 10 minute warm up. I was surprised at her excellent form, she was attentive to my feedback and coordinated her legs quite well. I got her to avoid locking her knees and instead, to leave a light angle.
We had a good time with the different asanas as we were invited to close our eyes in order to tune ourselves to the sensations we were experimenting despite the overbearing air conditioning. Focusing on my breathing, I felt very different as every movement was a new commitment to inhabiting my body.
I’m super proud at how fit I have kept over the summer. Usually I take a break for August when I am away and let me tell you it’s hard to get back to a full schedule of Spin, Kickboxing, Cardio Core Interval etc. All this hard work should help me ease into my schedule with the right amount of stamina.
Our last diner together was spent enjoying a delicious Poke bowl from Coba. Healthy eating helps keep a clear mind allowing it to release energy with a slow constant burn and makes it more likely to feel satiated after such a meal. We added sprouted radish and avocado to the mix which only enhanced the flavor profile of the food.
I will miss my mom greatly but I am thankful for the good times spent with her. We are two of a kind and together, we get a sense of what it is like to truly belong. Her advice to me is to de-clutter as much as possible. She wants to help me realize that to take on new projects, I have to let old ones fall to the wayside. This will be difficult to achieve but I will do my best as I find pretty obvious how it could benefit me.
I love her with all my heart. She can say out loud things about the fate of the planet. Things that most shy away from, certainties which are just too much to bear. Only by making every moment count can we keep the chaos at bay, knowing that when the time comes, it will come for us all, including the rich and powerful who got us into this mess without a moment of hesitation. It is the one and only true justice in this life.
Who's that missing chick? Haven't seen her. 😉
Thanks for not letting your Mom lock out her knees that's so common its not even funny!
