Steemit Newbie's first post

Oh hello wonderful world!

As I'm finding my feet on this platform, I've already come across some really awesome posts, this is very exciting indeed! I've not yet grasped which keys to use to upvote, comment etc and there's a whole lot more to learn- eeek it's still very new to me! But I'm sure I'll get there with practice.

The words "finding your feet" are actually a great one in terms of what I love so much - all things Yoga! Everything starts in the feet - grounding, rooting down, generating energy from the earth, deep ninja core strength and generating ease within too!

As we strongly root down we activate the arches underneath the feet to tap into that springy mechanism, that kinda acts like a suspension. It's especially awesome for runners (*think midfoot landing to run more efficiently and yes more powerfully etc...).

I believe that our poor feet are sadly often somewhat neglected these days. Starting a yoga practice moves our toesies into the spotlight again, often to our shock and horror... I often see students silently crying out the moment they come up close to their feet...!

The thing I hear most often is "I can't do Yoga, I can't even touch my toes!". Please know it's not about that. The benefits of the results you'll find by moving south towards your toes (namely: stretching and opening up the backline of your body, ie hamstrings and co), are coming the second you start to practice!

A little is better than nothing, right?

It's all about practice and patience. Rome wasn't built in a day (so love Morcheeba).

I promise I won't be talking about feet all the time (I can't believe my first post is about feet... How did that happen...?)
