I do travel editor of Yoga Journal in 2017, after Turkey first went to Burning Man was published in the Winter 2016 issue of Fire I wrote titled Echo of writing (I've had a very different experience in 2017, in his article come soon)
EXPERIENCE PROPERTY is placed on the radar of many who put music, travel, nature lovers and festival followers in front of the acquisition. I was also in the top of the list in the top of my list of things to do with visuals, then musical sense, and finally with philosophy.
Even though I am very experienced in foreign festivals, I feel 'ready' until this year. And for the first time I was Burner in 2016!
I do not mean Burning Man's festival. No animal or plant can shelter; This is a city that is built on a weekly basis with a common effort, made livable, with 10 basic principles, and nothing is for sale, in daylight, hot days, extreme cold, hard sand storms. It's a social experiment. It's a compelling habitat. Fun fair for adults, a fairy tale, a difficult recipe.
Burning Man, a ritual born in the last quarter of the 20th century, a radical movement against the gentrification that flourished in America, arriving daily - perhaps even in the last corner - falling into this trap.
In order to survive for a week in a row, it is necessary to make all kinds of preparations. There's no money in Burning Man except for ice and coffee, no shopping. This means you need to make preparations in a serious sense. In this process you are also deciding what kind of Burning Man you will actually have. If you want all of your opportunities in your normal life, it costs a fortune, and the minimum period of 1 week can be taken care of at reasonable prices.
I have experienced a lot of gigs in this process. I had a prejudice that I think that some of our friends who have gone to Burning Man have been the only place that the rich can afford because of the rhetoric of 'not being and without a caravan and not being camped' and of course the cost of caravans and some camps.
We did not listen to the words 'it would not be like that, it was not like that' and we took our step to Black Rock City with a preparation as our own budget could. Now I think that if we did not get out of our comfort zone, would it be so transforming Burning Man? I do not think so!
The most beautiful sunsets and sunsets in the world, like every city, are rich, poor, young, old, all manner of people in Black Rock City. Untouched is an artwork on the outside, an artwork on the top of the gallery, contrary to what we are accustomed to from galleries, the 'intercultural' relationship established with artworks, the music that never stops at night and day, the art cars 'touring in the playa' the festive, deep, intense workshops and parties that will not come to fruition, the culture of giving (contrary to what some people know misplaced, not giving back money), the costumes which are perhaps the most colorful examples of people expressing themselves in a radical way, the place we find ourselves without imposition ...
When I threw my first step into Playa, I was surprised by the size. There are so many possibilities, so many things to do, to see, to experience, that it is impossible to catch up. This makes me feel like I should come back to you again the first day. I felt like a kid at 30 when I was taken to Disneyland.
I will not share even 1 per cent of my limited space in the magazine, and I'll try to share my subjective comments and memories as I am on my blog, but Burning Man is an experience that everyone else will live in. A magazine for your music, a separate magazine for the camps, Burning Man and maybe a thesis for yoga.
I jumped from the beginning of the year, the relationship with the air element changed; I spent a month at a constant sea, and the water fed the unhealthy side of me. On Burning Man, on Friday, something burned every night, and the pyramid, the man and the ashes of the temple, which had been built for a week with hundreds of laborers watched and watched as thousands of parallels gathered around the fire, lived and entered Playa's dust. I would not expect to enjoy a bit of heresy if I felt like I was staying in the sand storms in the middle of the desert, or when my legs were turning from pedaling, starving to a nervous tension, or crying to the beauty of sunrise. I am now listening to the echoes of the transformative effect of the element of fire. I question everything about life, business ...
