Much of the success of Steemit can be accredited to the passion and creativity of everyday users who continue to propel the platform forward. I believe people are eager to encourage others to join Steemit because there is a general consensus that Steemit is a special place.
My Zappl feature looks to build off the passion of users for decentralized censor resistant systems.
"Invite a Friend" or perhaps "Zap a friend"
If you have any experience using Coinbase, you know that you are given the option to invite friends to join the platform with a personalized link. If they join and purchase $100 of Bitcoin you receive $10.
What I would like to see Zappl incorporate is...
- An option to invite friends
- Personalized link to do so provided
- A public tally of the number of people you have encouraged to join the platform
- Potential rewards based off of that number
I am not saying the rewards need to be monetary. You could offer custom emoji packs, trophies and a variety of other rewards.
What I think is most important is the "public tally of the number of people you have encouraged to join the platform".
Zappl users will be able to be proud of helping to spread the platform and gain respect within the community. This will encourage organic growth and increase community engagement. I also believe it will give people a stronger sense of community.

Maybe I received a trophy or banner after reaching 5 and a custom emoji pack after reaching 10.
I hope this is not a repeat of a suggested idea.

Yes I support the use of this feature. A referral program with a reward will explode the user-base of #Zappl and increase the value of #Steem. This should be a must add feature for the dev.
