The 'Avondvierdaagse' (AVD) has started in Suriname.

I've never participated, but we are often involved with Social Media coverage for the companies that sponsor and help organize the event.
Currently a lot of locals are complaining about the traffic congestion because of the event, which is the main issue every year. This year it rained a lot, so traffic jams are even worse. It took some of my colleagues 3 hours to get home.
I prefer to go home early or stay at work late during the days of the AVD. Today it did both by going home early and coming back to the office, not the ideal combo 😅.
As for my Actifit. Reached my target for 3 straight days, so I'm excited. Getting 1k in early in the morning helps a lot. Meetings outside the office as well.
I really don't see AVD as an alternative to Carnival. The Phagwathon is more like Carnival
