Everyone Went to Steemfest: The Place is Dead and I Feel Like That Kid on Home Alone

@NoNamesLeftToUse The Lonely Writer/Artist Himself here and today
I'll just walk around the empty blogosphere, naked.

Steemit Eyes Logo.jpeg

What

am I doing...

I don't have much today, other than a new exclusive artistic production for you to maybe enjoy.

The image above isn't new.  I think I made that guy in early summer of 2017.  I'm not sure, but I think that was when placing cryptocurrency symbols upon art was somewhat popular around here.

Of course, when I do it, nobody noticed...

LOL!

I didn't actually laugh out loud just now.

I did this one awhile ago as well:

TheBrainBehindSteemit.jpeg

I think that was my brain, on STEEM.

Again, not many noticed.

So I just jammed it back inside my head and got on with my day.

Blue My Brains Out.jpeg

Back then, some days my life felt like a Tom Hanks movie and my only friend was Steemson:

steemson.jpeg

If you didn't get it, that's supposed to be like the volleyball friend Tom Hanks had in the movie Castaway.  And yes, I know, it looks like crap.  I did that intentionally.

Noticing a trend yet?

Everything is blue!

My newest production is blue.  Some people like blue, apparently.  I didn't want to drop the new blue image here and say nothing though.

None of those were the new image I produced today.  Just a few more nobody remembers.

For some strange reason, many people remember this one:

God Thumbs - Copy.jpeg
God Thumbs

Some people get water in their eye but have you ever had eye in your water?

Eye in my Water - Copy.jpeg
Eye In My Water

I don't know why I do such weird things.

I just do them.

Of course, if I'm showing off the blues today, I must include this one:

Things Id Rather - Copy (2).jpeg
The Things I'd Rather Be Doing

Those were all from Season One

Next are a few from Season Two.

These ones might be somewhat still fresh in your memories:

Can you even see Batman in that picture above?

He's right there, bottom left, looking out a window or something.  His back is turned to us.  So many thought I was joking when I said Batman was in that image.  I wasn't joking though.  He's right there.

Next!

A few of the illustrations that will get worked into a long piece of fiction I've planned to write and share here once more eyes come to see.

Season Three

Not much blue to see, so far.

I produced this one about one week ago:

NoNamesLeftToUse - My Thought Process Today.jpeg
My Thought Process Today

And the new piece of blue...

Something simplistic and easy on the eyes:

NoNamesLeftToUse - That Big Blue Thing.jpeg
That Big Blue Thing

So, there's my big blue show.

I hope you saw something you liked.

I went for something simple this time around.  That Big Blue Thing is just that.  A big blue thing.

You might be wondering why I bounce around so much.  One day you'll see an image full of darkness, hidden faces, symbolism, maybe a bloody mess.  Something colorful, bright, trippy-looking.  You'll see cartoon characters and side profile shadow-like people.  Then you'll see some variations of simplicity and many more styles.

Most people tend to get really bored of one style, including the artist.  Changing things up and having a variety is healthy for both viewer and producer.  I'd go nuts if I had to work on the same thing, same style, day in, day out; so, I just do whatever and hope people like it.  Simple, and it works.

Have a nice day.

I'm up to over 200 new artworks this year. I don't often reuse them. People would notice and I'd be bored. Producing this stuff is how I like to spend my free time, even though that free time often extends into when I should be sleeping. Whatever...

I know. I much prefer knowing what you post is always a reflection of the latest thing your deranged mind has come up with as a reaction to whats going on around it.

Rewarding was supposed to make you beneficiary... Still working out bugs.

This whole post is like David Lynch on acid

MashedInPlasticLarge.jpg

That was probably the most unique post review I've ever received.

That's because I go like this

haha the steem mascot steemson

I think I killed Steemson, unfortunately.

The Blue Picture You're Looking At

This one looks like winter clouds. Do you generate these with a program and see what you see in them or do you manually draw them? I'm so curious.

~ Mako

Everything I do is manually created by hand, digitally, from scratch.

Just yesterday I wrote a bit about it:
https://steemit.com/art/@nonameslefttouse/i-finally-did-it-another-artistic-breakdown

I also shared a bit of the process recently here:
https://steemit.com/art/@nonameslefttouse/why-should-i-write-about-this-dammit-i-thought-i-told-myself-to-write-better-titles

Nothing I do is automated.

I even stashed a big number 2 in this one awhile back just to prove a point.
Far Away.jpeg

It's all handmade.

That blue one you're talking about, it's just a blue base with darker spray paint as shading on top, then I blend it so things blur together. Much like rubbing wet paint.

That Gif is incredible, you can see how you carved the image out of the noise. It's really neat.

~ Mako

If stopping to take screenshots every few minutes didn't distract me out of the zone I go into when I work on this stuff, I'd do more gifs like that. Even the simpler pieces take a lot of time. Two hours can fly by, then I sit and wonder if I even blinked the entire time.

I know that feeling from my days of coding and playing Minecraft endlessly, and it's carried into my days of writing. When time becomes lost and it's just you and your project.

~ Mako

these are really awesome images, even though they're hard to understand.

$rewarding upvote 30% in 12mins

Command accepted.

That's makes them awesome. Just enjoy the pretty blue colours

There's nothing people need to understand. Many of them are meant to simply stimulate the eyes. When an artist paints a blob, then tells a strange story about what this random blob is, 9 times out of 10, that artist is full of shit.

Lol.. I get it now...

Blue has been popular lately... Lots of politicians taking about the “blue wave” that was or wasn’t; lol. Many things go unnoticed here but they are here forever thanks to the blockchain so at least it gives you perspective of what has been achieved.

I'm Canadian so luckily I don't have to pay much attention to what's going on in that tiny part of the world. It's all over the media of course, but I don't pay much attention to that stuff. I'm more into that bird that's looking at me through the window right now.

I've put two years of my own history down on this blockchain already. It's an interesting experiment. Most of the stuff I had on Facebook, I deleted. I wasn't happy with that environment or what it had to offer. This place tends to bring out the best in me, even on my worst days.

We're all the richer for it. Now thats enough ass kissing.

Seriously though I'd never bother looking at fucked up pictures of homer Simpson on Facebook. Even if a chain smoking greek wrote an essay about political instability in Lithuania to make the picture seem more relevant.

:P

Keep up the good work mate.

Facebook is more for that dumbed down zombie audience. It's unfortunate so many STEEM apps are attempting to appeal to that crowd with their 8 second per post average attention span. The only reason it's 8 seconds is because that stuff sucks. Imagine if they applied that logic to movies and all we got were 8 second clips... I don't get this but whatever, now I'm complaining, simply because I thought of Facebook. It's toxic like that.

Totally agree! I think that is the main reason I never spent much time their. I am very close to deleting my profile!

I'm more into that bird that's looking at me through the window right now.

I used to be like that this summer, but I started watching the news lately, man the news/MSM really drains the life force out of my body... Nice post by the way...

Cheers!

There's more to life than what they want to feed me.

Yup, I think Im going to stop reading/watching the news and such for a month, just to get some peace of mind.

Picasso went through a blue period too. My favourite piece is The Things I'd Rather Be Doing - it's gorgeous. I identified That Big Blue Thing as the centipede I'm occasionally startled to discover in my basement. It's not blue but that would only make it worse.

The other thing I like about The Things I 'd Rather Be Doing is the turquoise. Picasso's blue period also included greenish blue colours like that.

God Thumbs is outstanding. It has the right contrast of cool and warm, light and dark and then lines that take you to the center. I would expect to see it in a modern art gallery. Actually, it grows on you. Maybe it's my favourite.

The Things I'd Rather Be Doing and God Thumbs are in my personal top 20. I had another variation of God Thumbs that included a red background layer. The red was supposed to be Mars. Much of cool detail was lost behind the front thumb layer so I experimented more and well, that's what I came up with. It messes with the mind; it's hard to look away once one notices it.

As both a concept and your painting, that one is marketable.

They're all marketable. Every now and again people go through renovation phases and walls end up being painted dark blue. Some of these simpler pieces would brighten up those temporary disasters.

I agree but I mean really marketable not just for hiding a disaster. lol

"Nice and calm. I haven't gone nuts in awhile. Maybe next post..."

Mwahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

We'll see. I kinda bombed on the last couple comedy style posts so I'm still recovering. A bit down, can't force the funnies.

What do you mean? All you need is a chainsaw and a comedian.

And the willingness to do what it takes!

Humor can be one of the most depressing aspects of being a humorist.

Especially when he hits it. That always hurts.

(I'm sorry. That joke was bad, even for me.)

But yes, I do think it would be rather depressing to be held at chainsaw point and forced to make the funnies.

Not everyone, sniff, maybe next year...

More blue for me, yay!! Funny that we are on the same color cycle, red, red, red, now some blue!

I think the red is more memorable, stands out in more minds. I've actually produced quite a bit that wasn't red, but I'm known more for using red. Maybe it's because not many use red? So it stands out?

I know you've used others, but yeah, I think it's not as common for people to use it and it's such a bold color on top of that- I will always prefer the red crayon! Hah! ;)

I ate a few red crayons when I was young. Thought they were cherry flavored.

After I view your works and then read your closing statements,... I felt as though you had guided me through some art gallery and were explaining why I felt a certain way lol

Stay BLUE!

The blue halls of @NoNamesLeftToUse. I think the tour would have lasted longer had I included everything with blue on it.

No doubt. With the amount of original work you pump out.. would be an exhaustively long hallway

Might have to install one of those fancy moving floors.

Make sure it has personal control options for desired speed settings. Some parts of that hallway could get a bit scary I feel lol if the lights aren’t all working..

Don't worry. I'll even install caution cones.

That individual in the thumbnail has a very stylish mustache. Do I detect some Mediterranean heritage?

Must be some kind of a hipster/crypto nerd.

Damn, I thought it was Dali.

Well you thought wrong, @ocrdu.

Impossible. You're just being silly now.

I did not go to Steemfest, I am here enjoying loneliness.

It's not so bad, right?

My timeline is filled with "Steemit is dead" posts - otherwise I wouldn't have noticed anything odd!

Maybe they delegated their attention away and got paid to be somewhere else? troll laugh

In the third onei totally see Homer Simpson.

It is very quiet since steemfest began isn't it!

That's something I enjoy about producing art like this. I don't have to paint Homer Simpson, people just see Homer Simpson. The next will see ducks and a tree. So it's like painting ten images in one. That's being efficient.

And yes, so very quiet. I was kind of hoping they'd be all like, "Hey! Have you guys seen the latest @meesterboom and @NoNamesLeftToUse posts?! Gather round! These guys are awesome and we should all vote and follow their work!"

Then reality kicks in.... dammit.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping that everyone not going would be like. Oh man this be more active, gotta check out my feed and is like they are all, meh, steemfest is on fuck looking at anything!

And that is the good thing, why, in that batman one I swear I can see a monkey!

That's because I put a monkey in there (just to mess with people).

done and done. I haven't made the pronouncement though, so there is something missing.

If you really want me to start shouting it from the rooftops so badly I could, You just might find a few broken roofs and bloodstains.

Oh - by the way - I noticed a coupla posts ago you were wondering why Curie doesn't upvote you, be it because you've been around a while or because you've got too much SP.

The answer is neither - Curie will upvote you even if you've been around the whole time, even If you already got a large amount of SP (therealpaul got a few in the past coupla months, he's older than you and has a decent amount of SP)

No, they look at the post payout - You're getting consistently over 5 dollars, ranging into the high 20s, so you're not going to get a Curie. If you want to stand a chance, ask people to stop upvoting you.

That's kind of shitty. I experimented with not voting for myself, but went back to voting for myself to continue my experiment. There were a few occasions I was under $5, but that changes, and I won't complain. It's good to know. I thought maybe I was blacklisted for some strange reason.

I don't think it's so shitty, they're trying to reward under-rewarded creators who create "excellent" content.

Doesn't mean I - or they - don't think you're under-rewarded, just means that there are others who are more so. You might want to read their white paper at some point, it's a fairly quick read. never mind, for some reason I can't get on to their site where I found it approx. 2 months ago. Still that's the gist of it.

'Course, I do wish I'd gotten more Curies myself. I've only received one so far, still waiting on this

If you want I can start screaming. You may soon go insane more insane, but at least it won't be too quiet.

And what's an onei? ;)

Haha, an onei!! Isn't that a type of serf from ancient Greek times!! :0D

Scream away!... Screamfest!!

I would, but I'm actually in a library right now, I'd get kicked out and maybe arrested if I started screaming.

Let's do it!

I'm screaming right now!

Stop making me jealous.

You could always join in, in your head. It's the best place to scream

I'm always screaming in my head.

I thought that was already clear from my posts.

They're all out there dividing up Poland among themselves again.

I like the frozen $teem mind and the cold & happy Vendetta ;)
"Their Final Day" is remarkable too! there is specific energy in all your art...
your style is something to be learned from...

I'm really happy with Their Final Day and many of the other pieces I do with side profile shadow figures. I'm hoping to have a story to go along with them at some point in the future. I'm waiting for a larger viewership though. It's not a project I'd want to see fail due to lack of interest and when it's quiet around here, I get worried. Thanks for stopping in again today! I appreciate it.

You did not know this about me but blue is my favorite color. You do well with your Blues. I enjoyed the show

I didn't know that, but I do now.
